Decent hex and counter old-school wargaming here. Jan. -Feb. 1942, Demyansk Pocket, 2 scenarios, with the German forces surrounded by a Soviet counterattack and trying to survive the winter. Rules are in Japanese, but if you open the game’s top page, on the furthest right is an option to watch a game being played by the AI against itself. Any gamer who’s played a few like this should be able to figure out what’s going on. The rules are on the web so you could also run them through Google translate or something. Key points are no ZOC, initiative die rolls change who will be moving first each turn, and you have to stay within the supply radius of your HQ’s or expect trouble. If you toggle on the units, a lot of the info is in English, which helps, and the supply radius of the HQ is five hexes. (Double tap to select a unit at the bottom of the stack .) When you declare combat after movement, it can be either single unit on unit, or it can be multi which will drag in adjacent units as well, both your own, and the enemy’s. You get positive combat DR mods for being in supply, and for having multiple units from the same division involved. Losses are step losses and/or retreats, sometimes a unit can get blown out.Fun game, designed to work well on a tablet screen, and the AI isn’t stupid much. There’s also a solo mode where you can play both sides yourself or ftf with a friend.
