Media Sync Tool 2 is here! Rebuilt from the ground up, now with new sync engine, Liquid Glass UI and something unexpected — automatic clip logging using continuity notes. Syncing dailies by hand is the most tedious job in post. Media Sync Tool makes it vanish. And now it doesn't just sync your clips. It logs them, too. Drop a shoot day, or a whole season, into Final Cut Pro and every clip comes back synced in seconds. Jam-synced SMPTE timecode and your source metadata do the work. Overlapping timecode sorts itself out. You get your day back. Media Sync Tool pairs picture and sound by matching SMPTE timecode. Your cameras and sound recorder must be jam-synced on set — media whose picture and sound timecode don't correspond cannot be paired automatically by any timecode-based tool. ‣ LOG YOUR CLIPS, DON'T JUST SYNC THEM Media Sync Tool is the first ingest tool that reads the script supervisor's continuity notes and logs your footage for you. Import the report as a CSV and every clip gets its scene, shot, and take, plus the supervisor's verdict, with good takes flagged Favorite and NG takes Rejected. It even renames cryptic camera files into proper slates like 42PT-182-3* A MOS. The synced event shows up fully logged and named, ready to cut. The prep hours you used to spend typing metadata are simply gone. ‣ THE NOTES CAME AS A PDF? CONVERT IT TO CSV! Most productions hand the editor a PDF log, not a CSV. Media Sync Tool converts it itself — facing-page continuity notes, ScriptE Editor Logs, daily editor's logs, per-slate forms, spreadsheet exports — with nothing to configure. Multi-camera slates, pickups, MOS and wildtracks all come through as the supervisor meant them. Clip names are estimated from roll order, so the CSV opens in Finder for a check before you import it. The report that used to mean an afternoon of typing is now a file you drop in. ‣ SYNC A WHOLE SEASON IN ONE GO Other tools take one roll at a time. Media Sync Tool takes everything at once and groups it by shooting day automatically. Point it at an entire season of dailies and it's edit-ready in seconds. Fully automated, no babysitting, no involvement. ‣ IT KNOWS WHAT GOES TOGETHER Media Sync Tool reads your media and works out the rest. It spots Multicam clips by matching audio and video timecode on its own. No camera angle for a clip? It finds the matching sound and builds a Synchronized clip instead. You can split every take into its own clip, or publish each angle on its own alongside the multicam. ‣ YOU STAY IN CONTROL Every production cuts differently, so nothing touches your library until you say so. Review the results first, then send. MOS picture, wildtracks, and unmatched takes each arrive under their own keyword. Need the whole thing broken down into scenes? It does that, too. ‣ RIGHT INSIDE FINAL CUT PRO Media Sync Tool is a native Final Cut Pro extension, so you never leave the NLE. Drag a library, an event, or a handful of clips into the drop zone, and they come back synced. That's the whole job. ‣ BUILT FOR MESSY, REAL-WORLD MEDIA Real shoots produce imperfect metadata, and Media Sync Tool expects it. The engine catches the most common problems and walks you through the fix in a few clicks. It even syncs transcoded and proxy media that trips other tools up. ‣ CLEAR ENOUGH TO LEARN IN MINUTES The redesigned Liquid Glass interface keeps everything you need in plain sight, and a full user guide is built right in, offline, for whenever you want it. Open it any time from the Help menu. ‣ TRY IT FREE FOR 7 DAYS Every new user gets the complete app free for 7 days, nothing held back. Media Sync Tool is subscription-based, and that subscription is what keeps it growing and shipping updates like this one. Try it, and see how much of your day it hands back. ‣ Convert continuity report PDF to CSV for seamless clip logging! Supports ScriptE Editor Logs, Peter Skarratt's templates and other common continuity formats. Review the converted CSV, then import it as usual. What's new in version 2.0: • Log clips automatically — import the script supervisor's continuity report (CSV) and skip manual data entry entirely. • A rebuilt sync engine - faster, more reliable, and overlapping timecode now resolves itself automatically. • A fresh new look — a Liquid Glass redesign that feels right at home on your Mac. • More control over your sync — MOS, wildtracks, and unmatched takes, each under their own keyword. • Automatic iXML track naming — your boom, lavs, and mix come in as named audio subroles, no relabeling by hand. • And hundreds of bug fixes - no more hiccups, no more workarounds. Thanks for syncing with us.
