PUPILLARY DISTANCE PD+ instantly measures pupillary distance (PD) by capturing & processing a single, hi-res facial photo. Measurement accuracy is guaranteed to be the highest achievable by the capability of your device's camera system. Far and near PD's -- binocular & monocular -- are always available at no cost. FITTING HEIGHT PD+ instantly measures Fitting Heights for the frames you currently have on. Accurate fitting height and PD measurements are needed to ensure that lenses being made for your frames are properly centered on your eyes to achieve optimal viewing clarity. In addition, Fitting Heights are used to position segments for fitting multifocal lenses. Please note: Fitting Height is currently only supported on devices equipped with the TrueDepth or LIDAR camera systems (e.g., iPhone X and later non-SE models). Using an iPhone SE. PD’s for myself and my coworkers were constantly off by 4-6 mm. Calculations are a great tool to have for the pocket access, but since most people will probably use this to measure their PD for online glasses prescriptions, I would not recommend this. Best to get it measured by a real optician.

We really appreciate your honest review. The iPhone models with a single-lens camera (includes SE and devices that came before iPhone X) pose a challenge due to the lack of depth imaging capability. However, we are always finding ways to squeeze out more performance in all devices running at least iOS 15. We hope you would consider updating your review in a future PD+ release.
