The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has a rich, natural and cultural heritage that needs to be preserved for current and future generations. Several entities have captured some of this information as part of their individual efforts. The major challenge is that all this information was scattered among the various entities & individuals and was not available in one place for those who wish to access it. It is against this backdrop, that an initiative was undertaken to compile all relevant information and make it accessible through a dedicated mobile app and web portal. Information related to thousands of cultural and heritage sites located around islands can be searched and identified from the portal. These locations showcase local values, as well as personal and cultural heritage as a testament to Abu Dhabi’s rich culture, and by accessing this information, the present and future generations can understand the locations, landscape, and lifestyle of their ancestors.
