Choose a key and a progression, set the frets and an open string — get up to three playable guitar paths, hear them side by side and practise the toughest change. Insta chords helps you play a chord progression the way you want it to sound. Pick a key — major, minor or a mode — and a progression, ready-made (I–IV–V–I, ii–V–I, I–V–vi–IV and more) or your own. Choose the part of the neck to stay in (frets 0 to 12) and, if you like, a string that must ring open in every chord. The app checks real, playable fingerings and offers up to three paths through the whole progression, balancing open strings and smooth changes. SEARCH • Chord diagrams for every chord of a path: frets, open and muted strings, fingers and barres. • Keys and modes: major, natural and harmonic minor, Dorian, Mixolydian, Phrygian, Lydian and more. • Colour pedals 7 / sus / 6 / add9: allow the sound you want. Keep the open D in G major and C becomes Cadd9 (x30010). The added note is named, not hidden. • Extra conditions: a minimum number of open strings, root in the bass. • Standard guitar tuning, plus Drop D, DADGAD, Open G and Open D, and ukulele (GCEA and low-G). • When no path fits, the app shows what blocks it and suggests the nearest condition to relax. HEAR AND PRACTISE • Play a path and compare the options by ear (A/B). • Play loop: a whole progression on repeat, with a count-in, at 40–120 BPM. • Practice: loop the change between two chords and mark it when you've got it. • My studies: save a path and come back to it later. • Tuning passport: see how a path's shapes carry over to other six-string tunings. CHORD REFERENCE • Look up triads, seventh and sus chords from any root on the fretboard, with a tuning editor. PRO (IN-APP PURCHASE) Insta chords is free to use.
