Up to now, most of my experience with mahjong has been of the solitaire variety (think all those versions of Shanghai released on consoles in the 1980s and 1990s). That changed once I found this. The atmosphere feels very calm and welcoming, and I am legitimately enjoying the games I have played so far (even won a match once).If there’s any feedback for the developers, I’d like to see a more comprehensive tutorial for new players. Part of it is me having trouble getting a hold of the character tiles, but part of it is also a lot of uncertainty about what constitutes a winning Riichi mahjong hand and what doesn’t…I’ve played myself into a corner a few times.But that’s a minor quibble. This is a fine place to play Riichi mahjong, and it deserves every one of the five stars I’m giving it. Thumbs up from the US.
Love the F2P- But Gacha is Limited…

I’ve been enjoying this version of Riichi Mahjong since launch. I’ve built my rank up overtime and just found that I really enjoy the game- as well as finding myself getting better. I don’t enjoy spending lots of money on Gacha games for cosmetics or hoping for a specific character but this app has a nice F2P option; the rewards are fair. Slight problem- this game is definitely directed towards a more male audience. They drip market sexy women every major update but have a limited Male Gacha pull. As a straight female Riichi Mahjong player, I would love to see more men. I love everything else though, but the ratio is something like 6 (not including limited/crossover gacha) men to 30+ women. Still a great game but would love more diversity !! :)

Yes, it’s better than Mahjong Soul. The animation is better with more customization, animated emojis, better BGM, and it’s more modern with better UI/UX. There are more events happening with more things to collect. RC is newer (2 years) vs MJS (5 years), so it has less players, which is the only con and the game will grow. Also, even at 5% pull rate, my luck seems abysmal as I’ve pulled 36 times with no character.. 🥲
Putting the match on auto will flag you as not playing

I set the match to auto and not even 20 seconds later it said I wasn’t playing in the match. I don’t understand why it would have the auto option just to flag you when you use it. I lost all the points from the match and then it said there would be consequences next time when I went to play again which was really upsetting to read. They should add a warning stating how long the auto is allowed to be used so other people don’t make the same mistake. It really ruined the experience and I expected better communication for the rules especially since they are so aggressive. If I could give it zero stars I would. I hope the company takes out the auto if they’re planning on just using it to flag people it’s cruel.
