Every kind of belote share some basic rules
The asked color must be played during a trick
If the color cannot be played, a trump must be played unless a teammate played the stronger card
When trump is played, a stronger trump must be played
The order of the cards are (from highest to lowest rank):
-Trump: J 9 A 10 K Q 8 7
-Non-trump: A 10 K Q J 9 8 7
the last trick brings 10 more points.
In every belote game points are counted depending on the card and their trump status then:
-Trump : J=20, 9=14, A=11 10=10, K=4, Q=3, 8=0, 7=0
-Non-trump : A=11, 10=10, K=4, Q=3, J=2, 9=0, 8=0, 7=0
Classic Belote
-The bidding team must score a minimum of 82 points to fulfill a contract (without Belote-Rebelote)
-The first team to reach a minimum of 501 points wins the game. If both teams collect over 501 points, then the team with the highest score wins.
Coinche
-Coinche is the strategic variation of Belote.
-The bidding team has to fulfill the contract to win a round, scoring a minimum of 82 points through tricks, without melds and Belote-Rebelote
Belote with melds
-The betting team reaches 82 points, each team scores the points they have achieved including the meld points and the Belote points.
-Belote with Melds is played similarly to classic Belote with the exception of scoring.
Contrée
-The team that has fulfilled their contract scores the points gained and the Belote-Rebelote bonus.
-The team did not fulfill their contract and only scored points for the possible Belote-Rebelote. The opposing team wins 162 points, the opposing team points and the belote-rebelote points.
