The F&P NHF Deadspace App is an educational tool designed to visualize the effect of dead space clearance by nasal high flow (NHF) on ventilation.
This App supports several breathing patterns during wakefulness, sleep, and lung diseases, which leads to increased minute ventilation due to elevated physiological dead space. Alveolar ventilation remains constant in the simulated breathing while either respiratory rate or tidal volume (in the ‘Sleep mode’) are changed in a response to a reduction of dead space.
This app serves exclusively for education and should in no way replace normal clinical judgement.
