Latin proverbs, quotes and fixed expressions appear across literature, science, philosophy and everyday language. Understanding these classical phrases helps you interpret texts more confidently, recognize cultural references and deepen general knowledge. This app provides a structured learning system focused on long-term retention rather than short-term quiz memorization.
At the center of the learning experience is an adaptive spaced repetition system that adjusts review intervals according to your real memory performance. If you recall a phrase after a longer interval than expected, the next interval increases. If you hesitate or answer incorrectly, the interval shortens without resetting your progress. This ensures that your practice time focuses precisely on expressions that still require reinforcement.
Two complementary learning modes support different study approaches. Multiple Choice allows quick rounds with immediate feedback and helps build early recognition of wording and meaning. Self-Assessment strengthens active recall: you first try to remember the translation yourself, then rate whether you knew it, almost knew it or did not know it. This method is highly effective for establishing long-term memory.
All content is organized into clear thematic sets. These include well-known Latin proverbs, common sayings, memorable quotations and frequently used phrases. Every card shows the original Latin wording along with its translation. You can freely enable or disable sets and adjust the configuration at any time without losing progress.
Each set includes a test in which all phrases appear once. Depending on your results, you can earn a silver or gold medal. Tests provide a transparent way to evaluate your progress and help you identify areas that need further review.
A full card browser is also included, allowing you to explore and review phrases independently of learning sessions.
