L'application Tropifruit est dédiée aux problématiques phytosanitaires affectant les cultures fruitières tropicales (agrumes, ananas, avocat, banane, mangue, vanille). Elle a pour objectif d'aider les techniciens et les producteurs à identifier les maladies et les ravageurs affectant ces cultures, mais aussi à choisir des méthodes de protection respectueuses de l'environnement.
Elle a été développée dans le cadre du projet EpiBio-OI. Ce projet a pour objectif de participer à la protection de la biodiversité terrestre des îles de la zone Sud-Ouest de l’océan Indien tout en renforçant la sécurité alimentaire face aux changements climatiques. Le projet EPIBIO OI est financé par l’Union européenne (Feder InterReg V) et par la région Réunion.
