Cycling Guide shows you how by providing the best available low-stress cycling-friendly routes that are great for people who would like to get around by bike but perhaps lack the experience, confidence, or knowledge to do so comfortably. Run errands to the store, ride to a park with your kids, and discover new places from the comfort of your bicycle. And have fun while doing so.

Big improvement on our route maps!
- After tapping “View Routes” the resulting routes now show street and path names on them
- After tapping “Start Cycling” the screen shows the names on streets and paths as they are approached

We’ve updated the way that we manage Regions in the app. Relatedly, Cycling Guide now provides the best available cycling-friendly routes in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with more new Regions to come soon!
We’ve added a few more Cycling Tips to help folks who may be new to cycling. And our tips are now managed more effectively, meaning we can update them and add new ones quickly as needed!
Explore Rides have been updated. People using the app can now view an Explore Ride directly without having to get a route to its start.
We’ve added a few more friendly businesses. And these are now managed more effectively, meaning we can update them and add new ones quickly as needed! And in Waterloo Region, ON, we now show the locations for the City of Kitchener’s Bikecheck for secure cycle storage at special events all summer. We’ll be adding similar valet bike parking for other Regions as well.
We’ve added sponsorships for 2026. We think of our sponsors as valued partners, and their financial support helps us keep Cycling Guide free for everyone!
We implemented many bug fixes of the recent “off season”! The most notable/annoying might be a bug that prevented people who had just installed the app from getting past the terms and conditions screen. Its fixed!
We’ve updated (and thoroughly tested) the way that we process data for use in our routing, and as a result our routes are improved in all Regions!
And we’ve improved search results for addresses and locations, with better and more consistent results in all Regions

Added the ability to get a route to a parking facility, so when you’re running errands you know where to securely park your bike!
For each route, we know show the potential carbon emissions avoided by cycling rather than driving an internal combustion engined vehicle.
Fixed some annoying bugs related to editing a route.
And a few more bugs have now been banished.

While cycling, app map could get badly oriented. That now fixed.
While onboarding, under some conditions accepting privacy, terms, and map terms was blocked. That's been fixed.
The Feedback screen was blank for some people. That's been fixed.
Panning and zooming the map while cycling was pretty flakey. That's been fixed.
Battery performance should be much improved over previous release.
Other small fixes and refinements that are, frankly, too small to note!

Tapping on a bike parking icon (blue square) on the map now reveals any available details about that bike parking.
After tapping the “Start Cycling” button, there’s now a small dashboard that shows your current speed, distance travelled, and elapsed time while cycling.
