EVENFLO’S SENSORSAFE: MAKING CAR SEATS SMARTER AND CHILDREN SAFER
EVENFLO’S integrated SENSORSAFE technology connects your child’s EVENFLO car seat to the mobile app and alerts you to four potentially unsafe situations for your child in real time. SENSORSAFE uses a Bluetooth enabled smart chest clip to send the alerts to the mobile app. While your eyes are focused on the road, your smart SENSORSAFE-enabled car seat from EVENFLO monitors the safety of your child through these four alerts:
1. CLIP OPEN lets you know that the child’s chest clip has become unbuckled.
2. TEMPERATURE TOO HOT or TOO COLD alerts caregivers if a child is in a vehicle at an unsafe ambient temperature.
3. TIME TO TAKE A BREAK reminds the caregiver to let the child get out of the seat to move and stretch every 2 hours on extended trips.
4. CHILD STILL IN CAR will alert the driver if a child has been left buckled inside a vehicle if the mobile phone has moved away from the clip. It will also alert family members with the location of the vehicle if the primary caregiver has not responded.
In addition, the app also provides easy access to your EVENFLO car seat’s instruction manual, guidance on installation, product videos, FAQs and direct access to customer support. It’s the added protection you want for your little one — and the only smart car seat technology of its kind.

Constantly says I’m to far away
I had to uninstall and stop using the app. Just getting out of the backseat to sit in the front seat says I get to far away! And constantly says I’m to far away WHILE BEING IN THE FRONT SEAT! And when moving carseat to another car it is constantly sending me notifications that I left my baby in the car or making sure I know the location! Wish there was a button to reset the distance away from car seat as every vehicle is slightly different!
Horrible user experience
We bought the sensorsafe seat to supplement the car safety however the app user experience is terrible!!
1. The app asks to share location 24x7 and keeps the connection to the sensorsafe clip even when it’s not in use. Does evenflo expect newborns to be buckled to their car seat 24x7?
2. The app asks to fill in the user settings each time you log off and log back in. How difficult would it be for the app to remember user settings? It’s been a while since people have been developing apps!

False alarm rate is ridiculous
I had to disable the alerts which basically makes this app pointless. It alerted me constantly that my child was “left in the car” even after we were home, in the house, and the child was unbuckled and not even in the seat!! The alerts are relentless, which in a real emergency situation would be great. But I got so many false alarms, in a real one came though I would just ignore it. Definitely a “cry wolf” scenario. Really disappointed as I was excited about this feature.
