This update focuses on School reports, with a redesigned AI checker, a clearer Re-allocation screen and a series of fixes, plus improved support for iPhone Duo. The AI checker now presents its suggestions as a proofread, with removed words struck through and added words underlined, and the option to switch between the changes, the original and the result. Each suggestion can be accepted or declined individually, and the review screen is now the same whether checking before or after saving. The checker also keeps strictly to steps where it has been switched on. Re-allocation now opens with a view by teacher, showing each teacher's progress and allowing a teacher to be removed from a whole report in one step. A summary shows sets, teachers and how much has been written. When removing a set a teacher still teaches, administrators can choose whether this applies to future reports and Parents' Evenings too. Report setup now warns about steps that close on or after the publish date. Parents can once again open their child's reports where the child's School record number begins with zero, and the same correction has been applied across the app. Marking reports as completed, re-allocation and report creation now work for every member of staff. New reports take their academic year from the School's records, and a missing grade option on some reports has been restored. On iPhone Duo, the app now works around the camera and the fold, calendars size themselves to the space available, the leave calendar has been redesigned, and search opens as a full page. Staff can now see Parents' Evening preference times, and preferences set by an administrator can no longer be changed by mistake.

This update rebuilds Parents' Evening, introduces a prep timetable, and includes a wide range of improvements and fixes. Parents' Evening has been rebuilt from the ground up. Families book in two clear steps, see their evening as a timeline, can ask for appointments after booking closes, and can download or share their schedule. Pupils can book on behalf of a particular parent. Teachers set their availability with a clear preview, receive a run sheet with the context they need, and can accept or decline requests. Houses can see at a glance who still needs to book, and administrators gain draft evenings, changes since setup, bulk changes with a preview, and editable preference times. Pupils in Years 1 to 3 and their parents can now see tonight's prep and the whole fortnight, and houses and tutor groups can see each evening's prep for every pupil. Parents can now download their children's timetables, and pupils their own, as a clear one-page document. Photo lists can be printed as candidate cards, register lists, name flashcards or one per page. School reports can now pick up pupils who have joined or left since setup, and marks and grades can be added to a report already in progress. Professional development forms now let staff choose the exact lessons that need cover, which is passed to the cover team once approved. Future absences can be edited or deleted after they are filed. Pupils who joined more recently are no longer left out of reports, newer staff now appear throughout reports, and registers save reliably. Disabled buttons now look disabled, refusals explain themselves, and there are many smaller stability improvements throughout.

This update rebuilds School Reports administration, improves lesson cover throughout, and adds sibling records and a historical data import, alongside a broad set of corrections. The report setup and view pages now use the same sidebar layout as the rest of the app, and the reallocation screen has been redesigned. Sets can be removed from a report in bulk, each step shows how many entries it covers, and completing a report no longer risks creating duplicate steps when an earlier attempt stopped partway through. Lesson cover has had a thorough pass. Cover assignments can now be deleted, periods appear in the order the school day runs in, and corrections have been made across the index, submission, assignment, Head of Department, summary and detail screens. Sibling relationships are now held against pupil records, and a new historical import brings past class membership and enrolment records into the system in managed batches, with a record kept of each one. Notification settings have been extended to cover newer areas of the app. Elsewhere: addresses now record a country, candidate numbers and unique candidate identifiers import correctly, Cambridge component marks are read properly, and sanctions notifications reach a pupil's full house team rather than a single member of it. Fixes have also been made to parents' evening, weekend leave, book reading, attendance and timetable handling. On macOS the app now follows your system appearance and accent colour. The app's shared layout components have been rebuilt so that screens behave consistently as the window is resized, and a considerable amount of preparatory work for a forthcoming Exams module has been completed behind the scenes.

If the address you type is not the one the app knows you by, it asks the School's directory which account it belongs to and signs you in accordingly, so an alias or an older address no longer produces an unhelpful refusal. Addresses on the School's newer domain, which the login page had been rejecting before they reached us, now work. School Reports gains two features. Written text and grades can be copied from one report onto another, matched pupil by pupil and entry by entry and filtered by subject; anything a teacher has already written is left untouched. A report can now also be deleted, behind a typed confirmation, with setup notes preserved for the following year. Several long-standing faults have been corrected: completing report creation a second time no longer produces a duplicate report for every pupil; a pupil taught by two report-writing teachers now appears once, with marks saved against all of his entries; and re-opening a report's setup shows the marks, grades and selections it was saved with, rather than an empty form that then overwrote the real one on the next save. The photo grid export is now configurable throughout: orientation, photos per row, position on the page, fitting to a single page, starting a new page for each house, year or form, hiding anyone without a photograph, and removing the crest, heading, footer, page numbers or date. It is available from class pages as well as advanced search results, and a long caption can no longer prevent the document being produced. Elsewhere, searching within dropdown lists has been fixed throughout the app, book lookups now use a new source, and music lesson administration gains bulk instrument assignment, sorting on every table and clearer teacher names. Service Desk mention checking now runs on request rather than continuously. A number of crashes have been resolved, including one affecting start-up on the web and one that reported cancelled downloads as failures.

This update adds a register for pupils without a mobile phone, name-based staff search for lesson cover, new export options for class lists, and a number of important corrections. Sign-in has until now assumed every pupil has a mobile of their own, which made the verified-number step an obstacle for those who do not. A new module lets staff record an exemption, and sign-in no longer asks. House staff manage their own house and administrators see all houses; there is deliberately no pupil-facing entry, since the absence of a phone cannot be demonstrated the way possession of one can. Lesson cover can now be searched by staff name as well as by subject. A teacher found by name carries exactly the same cover figures as the same teacher found by subject, so the two routes always agree. The Head of Department screen now names the period correctly, and staff holding more than one role are shown a single, correct set of options. Class lists can be exported as a photo grid with a choice of caption, or as a spreadsheet with a column picker so that only the columns you want are included. SEND, EAL and medical columns are available and are not selected by default. Several corrections are worth noting. Parents opening a child's timetable were incorrectly told the feature was unavailable; this has been fixed. Digital signage displays now sign themselves back in after a restart rather than waiting on the login screen, and signing in as a display clears any staff session left on that device. Attendance registers now hold entries on screen until the server confirms them, and a failed save no longer clears the register. Fire roll-call periods now begin on the Monday of the week a term starts, so a term beginning mid-week owns that part-week properly. Termly health forms are now sent to matrons alongside the housemaster and the Medical Centre, and photographs in exported PDFs stay with their captions across page breaks.

Line managers can now record leave already agreed with a member of their team, which is particularly useful for holiday agreed before a new starter's first day. Adding allowance handles up to thirty people across two years at once, the request form no longer fails when none has been recorded, and leave years are labelled to show both calendar years they cover. There is also a mentions inbox, so being tagged in a private note reaches you, plus an overview and statistics view. Exam results have been rebuilt for the whole School. Grade distributions, trends over time, candidate spread and breakdowns by subject and by house are all presented visually, and any pupil can be looked up directly with detail down to individual components. Importing results is considerably simpler: the app now identifies the file format itself rather than asking you to choose it, and offers a dry run so you can see exactly what an import will do, duplicates included, before committing to it. Communications now reports back. Each campaign has full analytics covering opens, clicks and the outcome for every individual recipient. Follow-up sends can be targeted at only those who did not open the original, reply-to addresses are managed properly by admins, and older campaigns can be archived. The composer has had a further round of refinement. When you submit an update to your details, the field now shows what you asked for and when, so there is no need to wonder whether the request went through. Anything still awaiting review after 30 days steps aside automatically. Address entry has been rebuilt around a proper search-and-select experience. Rather than typing an address into a set of boxes and hoping the formatting is right, you search, choose your address from the results, and the app fills in the rest. The details page also loads noticeably faster than before. Elsewhere: Staff Lifecycle country lists now update correctly when the School is changed, and fall back to free text where no list exists. The offboarding notes field has been reworded to ask a clearer question, and the Fire Checks export has been tidied up. Under the surface, a substantial round of housekeeping has taken place across the app. Nothing visible, but the foundations are in better shape than they were.

Staff Lifecycle requests now record when work was actually finished, separately from when the request was raised. Open a request and its progress updates itself from the live helpdesk status, rolling the request up to Completed when everything is genuinely done, or stepping back if a ticket is reopened. Staff Lifecycle requests, Short Links and Campaigns now all offer Mine, Department and All views, each showing who created or submitted the item. These lists also load considerably faster than before. Change requests now carry name, personal phone number and address updates all the way through to the School's records rather than stopping at the ticket. Onboarding workflows recognise which School someone is joining and word each step accordingly. Workflow Studio can now pre-categorise helpdesk tickets, and Country pickers on the onboarding and parent details forms offer exactly the values our records recognise. Also in this release: the tickets list is far more resilient when an agent has left or a requester has been removed, notifications now register correctly on Mac, and fourteen places where navigating away mid-load could take you somewhere unexpected have been fixed. Student contact updates are safer, the command palette and keyboard shortcuts have been polished, and loading indicators, sidebars and tooltips have all had a light refresh. House fire checks have moved into the app. Housemasters can record weekly checks and night drills in seconds, amend a submission in place with a full record of who changed what, withdraw a submission without deleting the history, and submit for several houses in one go. Admins get a single clear list of what is outstanding, plus a one-sheet Excel export. The parent details checker gains passport scanning. Point the camera at the photo page and the app reads it automatically, with no shutter button and no manual typing. Email and mobile changes are now confirmed with a one-time code, phone numbers use a proper country picker, and addresses can be found by postcode lookup. Weekend leave now offers options that reflect what actually happens, including Home, Guardian or Host Family, UK with Parents, and Friends. Where an address is required, you select it from the pupil's contacts rather than typing it out. Historic submissions are unaffected. Termly health forms are now available all year round. A previous submission no longer blocks a new one, and is instead shown above the form as a reminder. Recipients are resolved from the pupil's record, so health information always reaches the correct housemaster and the Medical Centre. Also included: more reliable login and session recovery, smarter account security checks, and a range of layout and navigation refinements.

This update rebuilds how notifications reach you, gives admin a proper way to send push and email from inside the app, adds a native What's New screen, and tightens up sign-in security. We also fixed a pile of things that have been mildly annoying everyone for months. New • Notifications, rebuilt from the ground up. Delivery is now handled in-house, so the School controls how and when alerts reach your device. Fewer missed notifications, better reliability. • A real notification settings card. Settings now shows whether Notifications and Critical Alerts are actually switched on, with Enable buttons right there. No more digging through system settings wondering why nothing's coming through. • Login Activity. See your last few sign-ins, including the method used, the device and a rough location, so you can spot anything that wasn't you. • Automatic protection against suspicious logins. Repeated failed attempts, or a sign-in that looks clearly out of the ordinary, now block an account automatically and alert IT, who can review and lift blocks from a new Blocked Users area. • Communications composer for admin. Send or schedule push and email to a chosen group, with merge tags so every message is personalised, deep links that open the right screen, and a full record of who received what. • Native What's New screen. Release notes now live inside the app, with a proper editor for the people who write them. Revolutionary, we know. Fixed and improved • Login and sessions are far more resilient, so you're no longer unceremoniously dumped back at the login screen. • What's New now arrives as a quiet banner on the home screen instead of a pop-up in your face. Tap it if you're curious, ignore it if you're not. • Tapping a notification reliably takes you where it's meant to, even if the app was fully closed when it arrived. • Sent communications now record who was actually reached, rather than a hopeful shrug. • The admin Email Log works again, and behaves like a proper sortable, filterable table. • Music student lists no longer include leavers. Growth. One note: as part of the security work, everyone was signed out once with this update. A one-off.

Sign in the new way and you'll also find a handy "Manage account" link in Settings. Admin areas now include a quick extra verification step, with a clear explanation and a Verify button, so sensitive sections stay properly protected without getting in your way. School Reports gets a real upgrade: save any report as a reusable template and load it next time, so you're not rebuilding the same setup every term. Your group selections are remembered too. There's also improved handling of New Beacon staff across search and admin, cleaner data exports, and a new "Skipped" indicator in sync logs so you can always see what happened and why. Staff Lifecycle is smarter, too. You now choose the School first, use proper typed inputs throughout, and can specify exactly who a new starter is replacing. Plus faster kiosk and signage screens, a smoother science display, and a range of small fixes to make everyday use that little bit calmer.

Exam candidate numbers can now be imported straight from an Excel sheet in App Admin. Download the template, upload your completed sheet, and the app checks it over before writing the numbers into Panoptic, then tells you exactly how many records were updated and whether anything couldn't be matched. No more manual copying. The Science Village displays have been rebuilt: a clean subject header and a card for each period filling the screen, with each science getting its own consistent colour so the wall stays clear and easy to read, in both light and dark. Admins can now delete a report entry directly from the report screen, with a clear warning when the entry is already complete, since deleting it also removes marks and grades. We've also improved how the app stays logged in and recovers from session issues, so you're interrupted far less often. The IT tickets and admissions calendar displays scroll and highlight more calmly, several tables and empty states have been cleaned up, and staff onboarding and offboarding handling is more reliable across the board. Smoother, cleaner, and a little less likely to lose its place.

This is a big one. We’ve rebuilt the app on a new platform of our own, moving every feature across so that everything you rely on now runs on faster, more reliable foundations. Around 225 features were rebuilt from the ground up and checked one by one. The app looks much the same. Underneath, almost everything is new. Pupils are now treated as a single, consistent identity throughout their time at the School, which makes leaver and applicant access far more sensible. When a pupil leaves, their parents and contacts keep access for a reasonable period rather than losing it overnight. New in this release: • Advanced Search is now a proper reporting tool. Save your searches, run them straight to results, and export to Excel on any device. The old hand-maintained spreadsheets are now built-in reports with always-live data. • Report Analytics, giving admins an at-a-glance view of how report writing is progressing. • Staff Lifecycle, a full joiners, movers and leavers system for HR and IT. • New exports throughout, including all of a pupil’s reports as a single PDF, a whole-week Study Leave sheet, free periods, and a captioned photo grid. We’ve also rebuilt person search to be quicker and more accurate, moved report and reward PDFs in-house for better reliability, stopped large exports from freezing the app, and fixed a long list of smaller issues uncovered while checking every part of the app. Faster, cleaner and a good deal more reliable.
