Epic Word Trip is a fun word game for kids to play on road trips. My family goes on a lot of road trips and we play games while driving to our destination. My app, Epic Word Trip, replicates one of these games, in which the user has to scan another car’s license plate to get letters and make as many words as they can think of that contain all of these letters. Each word has a point value depending on the difficulty of the word, and these points are added to the user’s total score at the bottom of the app. To get new letters, this app uses the new Live Text feature on iOS 15 to scan license plates on cars, parses the letters, and inserts them into the game. For example, a license plate like “1LPE231” would generate the letters “LPE.” The user then tries to make words with all three of these letters: “Apple”, “Peels”, “Spell”, and so on.
