If you live in Washington, DC, you don't need a map of the Metro on your iPhone. You need to know when the next train is arriving at your station.
Instead of wasting time standing at the platform waiting for a train (especially those late night and weekend trains), now you can time your arrival with one touch of the screen.
This app is most useful for DC locals: find your station, click it, and see when the next train will be arriving at the station. It's like having a platform status sign on your phone.
The effort is good however two things I would do to make this a fantastic app: use the compass to determine your location in respect to the closest metro and allow a refresh button to override the 30-second updates. This would allow the user more control and choose how they want to proceed. This would remove the effort having to scroll through the list of stops and updating faster if so chosen. Overall, this is why I ranked it 3 stars.

So far so good! I've been using the app for 3 days, twice a day and it was only wrong once (Branch Ave). It's nice to know if I need to hurry to make my train or if I have a few minutes to spare. Love it!

i have the older iphone so as soon as my wifi conx was broken, this app didn't work, which inhibits your knowledge of when the train is actually arriving. for the 3G phones it may work better.
