I used to love this app, full 5 stars. Unfortunately, the Watch complication doesn’t seem to function properly anymore — you now have to tap “row counter” on your watch face and THEN tap to increase the row count each time. This makes the watch complication just as annoying as the phone app.. having to unlock the phone every single round just to update the counter.So, the app does what it says it does, but is less useful for my needs due to these deficiencies. Overall, I think the dev(s) are doing a great job, just not updating it for the current operating systems. Considering it’s a free app, I can’t complain much — but I’d be willing to pay for it, if it had all the old functionality back.

When I first used this on my Apple Watch, I thought it was perfect. Simple plus and minus buttons, long press to clear and start over. But the developer didn’t create a complication, so you can’t add it to a watch face! So having to navigate to the app each row is silly. And the interface on the iPhone is terrible. Overly confusing… swipe one way and you accidentally remove rows. Just have a plus and minus button like the watch app. Maybe worst of all though it its landscape orientation. People don’t use that regularly unless watching a video. Makes no sense that the normal way people open and hold their phone is it in portrait mode, yet the app is landscape, and you can *only* close the app by swiping from the left if holding it normally. You swipe up on landscape. Counterintuitive to literally any other app. A few tweaks would make this perfect but it falls short.

I downloaded this app for the watch complication. I enjoy the simplicity of this app. However, there are some adjustments that could be made to make this a great app. Watch version: is extremely glitchy. Sometimes it counts my rows, sometimes it’s taking forever to load, sometimes it just doesn’t register. I cant really tell, so sometimes I tap it again. Now I’ve got multiple rows counted. The whole point is to keep track, not confuse me. iPhone version: goes landscape mode. Why? I don’t know, it’s not necessary. It’s annoying on an iPhone X that uses a swipe as a home “button”. I use my phone for both my patterns and sometimes row counting. It’s just annoying to switch between both when it changes the layout, especially if I’d rather be quick with my knitting than slow down for this. If I accidentally swipe to change to my other app, i might swipe the wrong way and Delete a row instead. Also I have only found the way to subtract a row on the app is to swipe across the screen. Honestly, it should be + and - just like the watch version. Much better. A major bonus to this app would be to add more than one project that could be accessible on both the watch and iPhone. I really enjoy when the watch version does work. When I’m doing shorter lengths of rows it’s really nice to just quickly tap. I don’t have to set down my knitting or anything really. Sometimes it disappears off my screen for a while and I have to reopen it on the watch but that doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the button glitches. Hopefully some of these suggestions will be taken into consideration!

I appreciate the developer making this app, it’s free and helpful. However, it’s way too easy to accidentally increase or decrease a row without knowing you accidentally touched the screen. Also, there doesn’t seem to be a way to start over, so if you’re on row 150 and you need to start a different section of the pattern at row 1, you have to click the screen 150 times to get back to 1. If there’s an easier way to do this, I wouldn’t know because there doesn’t seem to be any settings or help section within the app either. There are better row counter apps.
