Stickies app, native to Mac OS -- IS NOT AS HANDY as Tab Notes is! Plus ... Stickies is a proprietary nightmare about where my notes are stored -- even when I can "export" to the macOS "Notes" app they are STILL locked away in *that* app as well! Crazy.Tab Notes eliminates the crazy: Notes are simply stored in a folder I choose, as files other applications can work with (RTF). Searching notes is provided. A note can be moved from one space to another (drag to float note, app expose, drag note as window to another space). All notes can be moved to another space: quit Tab Notes, go to another space, open Tab Notes. Maybe remembering what space a note "wants" to be in would be nice -- but only if you use your Spaces (aka Desktops) very consistently for specific tasks; I don't mind not having that. The "cute animals" need not be used -- a tab with a name takes less real estate and gives a hint about the note.This program is working well so far, on Catalina.

Tab Notes does keep my notes handy and tidy. Eliminates that notepad I used to keep next to my laptop. Now I don’t have to worry about reading my bad handwriting in low light or switching to a notes application…which is better, but not as easy as having my Tab Note right on the edge of my screen where I can always find them. So far I’ve only used the three free notes, but I’m seeing now that it might be worth buying the full version… for extra notes refer to often. I’ve postponed upgrading because it seems pricey. The developer I think would sell more at a lower cost and ultimately have more revenue. I gave it 4 stars only because I’d rather not have the notes pop up 'accidentally' when my pointer inadvertently touches them. I wouldn’t mind having to click to avoid this. And it has been EXCEEDINGLY annoying to be constantly asked to review the app. I don’t normally review but clicking that option didn’t stop it from bugging me. If I were a different sort of person, I might have retaliated by giving one star. But I’ll be honest and stick with 4 stars. 5/6/17 Update: Thanks to the developer for responding. Problem solved: I went to Preferences and Unchecked "Open on mouse-over". However, I got a new request for a review today. I’ve never had problems saving settings in App Store apps. Dunno what else to do.

I rarely write reviews but this app is a godsend. I've always had trouble staying organized for school. I tried to use planners but I wouldn't have it with me or I'd forget to write stuff down. Every semester I would be taking 12 units and only had a few essay assignments that the professors would constatntly remind us about so keeping track of assignments wasn't too bad but this semester I'm taking 15 and I have a lot of smaller random assignments on top of essays and tests so keeping track of the smaller assignments was getting a bit difficult and I wanted something I could use to write down assignments without leaving it behind. I found this and downloaded the free version. I have never been so organized. I got assignments finished ahead of time and even turned in an essay two weeks early.

I don’t write reviews, literally, I never write reviews. This is the first review I’ve ever written, and it is so worth it. I have an organisation problem, and I use notes on my mac and iphone, and I write in my notebook, but the issue is: I never open them to check my notes. So the fact that this is write there on my screen no matter what I’m doing is great. Even when the little creature thing is showing from the side, it’s a constant reminder that I have some work to do. The limit is 3 notes (for free), but so far I have not needed more than 3. Plus, you can resize notes to fit in a list of things. Maybe when I need more I’ll purchase the premium. I seriously love this.
