I'd recently lost the master to 40 page report complete with Graphics and Tables etc.. I did have the report in a PDF file that I used to distribute it. I ran the app. and there was not much to the interface and seemed to complete in a fairly reasonable abount of time. I opened the converted WORD file it created in MS Word (Office 2011 for the Mac) and it seemed to do a decent job. Almost all of the text was right on, in the appropriate font and pretty close to the same formats and styles. However, with all hype about copying graphics, it really didn't do a very good job. Some fine grapichs, looked like they were double exposed, most were recognizable but not anything like the "clean" graphics that were in the original or the PDF file. What it TOTALLY screwed up was all of the tables!! The best preserved tables looked like all the text in each row and column had been clipped and had letters or even words missing. The worst table was un-recognizable road kill. As you can see in the graphic on the app.'s page, there is a small check box in the bottom left hand corner of the app. that says "Convert scanned PDF documents with OCR". It was checked (by default) and that's how I scanned the file. To be fair and give the app. a second chance I "un-checked" the box and converted the same file a second time. This time the file turned out a LOT closer to the phoney 5 star reviews published first. Except for a few irritating margine issues and under-runs, it was near perfect!! Very clean graphics and all tables looked like they should. My advice, if you're going to use this to convert a traditional PDF file … UN-CHECK THAT STUPID BOX IN THE BOTTOM CORNER !!!!

It purports to convert PDF to other formats. I converted one doc and the formatting went to hell. I converted another, and could never find it. Tried several times. The interface is obscure and after you click on convert it asks if you want to save the file. But it won’t save it just anywhere. And after you click on save, you get no further info from the program. And if a file is “converted” you can’t open it from within the program. Have to use Finder on my Mac. And it can’t find but one of the files or folders that I created to hold the conversions.

Program does what it should in an easy to use solution, I have an associate at work who uses a PC that is ooking for a program that workds as well on a PC.I showed him how well this program worked and he is looking for a solution that does the same for him..

After playing with the PDF conversion app it did produce some form of the document. Not able to operate on that production but could edit the text. Does not handle spread sheet or tabulated PDF. data scrambeled and formatting crazy. Only value is that is does produce apple Pages document. Worth the money? Up to you ...
