Thank you for the different speed levels for listening. So helpful for my old Brain! I can savor, meditated, comprehend so much better each verse with the slower speed. I love the background sound effects, the different voices, the study notes, definitions and helps. Love this App of the New King James. I play it in the night with earphones when I can’t sleep or if my Husband is gone then I just turn it on and listen through the phone speaker and fill the room with the Word of God. Devil hates it and puts me quickly to sleep every-time! I play it while getting dressed in the morning, while cooking and cleaning in the kitchen or cleaning the house - I connect my phone with the big portable music speaker we have or sometimes just carry in my pocket with it playing . I put it in my pocket and listen to the word of God when walking with it playing out loud or earphones. What a major blessing to my life - saturating my mind with scripture. So much better than listening to the news or the today show or anything else! Nothing gives you joy and healing as the Word of God!

This Bible app is in my opinion the best one I’ve used. I’ve downloaded a bunch that I’ve ended up deleting and the only two left are Logos and this one. I really prefer this one to Logos because the UI is very simple and intuitive. I only keep Logos for the vast amount of resources. Taking notes is easy, highlighting is easy, finding the books, chapters, and verses is easy. The audio is nice and is why I originally downloaded the app but I find the actual usage far superior to other Bible apps. So I give it 5 stars. I do want more from this app though. It would be great if I had the ability to listen to the English audio while reading the Spanish text. Also I would like to have the ability to turn on or off the sound effects and music in the audio reading. I really appreciate that John was free. Had it not been I probably would not be enjoying the rest.

I can’t say how much I adore this app, especially since it works on my iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV so I can listen and read along just about anywhere. The NKJV has is my favorite translation of the Bible so the fact that Word of Promise uses the NKJV text is like a personal blessing to me. I can listen to it in my car with my phone, on my couch with Apple TV, or while lying down in my bed with my iPad. I can’t say enough how incredible this is. I loved the Word of Promise audio Bible ever since I bought the 70-something CD set nearly a decade ago. The quality of the dramatization rivals a Hollywood production - it’s that good. Lastly - and what really rounds out the package - is just how high quality the app is as well. It’s not like most Bible apps that play the audio and you have to manually follow along, select the right book, chapter, and verse that corresponds with what you’re listening too. It’s synced up all by itself and highlights the exact verse being read. How cool is that? If that wasn’t enough you can jump ahead to any verse just by clicking on it whereas other audio Bibles are just divided up into tracks and you have to fast forward or rewind and hopefully land on where you want. Not so here. Everything is integrated and instant. So long story short with this app you get the best Bible translation in my opinion, the best dramatized reading of the Bible ever, and the best and most user-friendly layout for a Bible app I have ever seen (and I have downloaded countless dozens of them). Worth every cent if you ask me.

Yessss! I am glad for the study Bible part also because it helps me greatly in my studying and I purchased it as well, but the BEST part about this app is the AUDIO!!!! I can listen to it ALL DAY!!! I love how there is different music and action in the background on top of different actor’s and actresses’s voices it is dramatic and keeps you so interested in what is going on! The Bible comes alive! I love the Daily reading section and it keeps you focused and on track to keep reading and allows you to read more than one day at a time and keeps up with where you are at for you. It has an awesome sleep timer so you can listen to the Bible as you are drifting off to sleep…that is cool as well!!! Just awesome. You can turn this in and do some chores and listen while you work because you get used to who the different voices are. The character voices stay the same…it’s neat and read as if they’re having the conversation….it’s cool!!! You should download it makes reading the Bible fun, easy, and enjoyable. (If you have a tv that uses screen-share you can also…throw it up on screen-share and use it for Bible School. We use it on our living room tv for homeschool). You can also additionally purchase a KJV VERSION of the Bible (some people have churches that use this one and like to use this one at church), but it does NOT come in the audio…for those who are interested. However it does have the KJV Study Bible you can download. You can switch between the NKJV audio and the KJV Study Bible if you do that option. I personally, love the NKJV audio with the study Bible the best!!! You should download the dramatic audio version one—WOWWWW!!!! I mean you can hear the chariots and horses when they are after the Israelites before the Red Sea is parted…you can hear the swords clanging together when they are fighting. You can hear the roaring rain and water with the flood!!! It’s interesting!!! Puts you “in it!” Takes you from just reading and makes you literally a part of it, you get immersed in the Bible and it comes so alive in your mind. The makers of this app…BRILLIANT!!!!!
