The contest of the best photographs of wild nature ‘The Golden Tortoise’ is the biggest non-commercial cultural, ecological, educational event in Russia. About 20,000 photographs devoted to nature, are sent annually to the contest; only about 200 of them are selected and exhibited.
The final exhibition is organized according to the results of the contest. The exhibition is the biggest exposition tour in Russia and travels to many cities. The constant city-participants are Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kurgan, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Lipetsk, Ryazan and Tula. This exposition tour which involves more than one and a half million people has been recognized as the exhibition event of the year in many cities.
