Run Tracker is a GPS based tracking app for people who want to keep track of their running fitness goals. PEBBLE SMARTWATCH Run Tracker connects with your Pebble to show you time, distance, and pace on your wrist without making you get your phone out. STATS AND MAPS Run Tracker tracks speed, distance, altitude, and time. It also gives you a map showing where you have been while you are saving a run. COLOR CODED When viewing saved runs your route shows up on the map color coded by speed. It shows where you went the fastest (red) and where you were slowest (blue). VOICE SUMMARY Don't want to look at the screen every few minutes? You can have the app tell you updates on your progress either every mile or every five minutes. PAUSE AND RESUME Pause the workout to catch your breath or chat with a friend and then resume when you get back to it. FACEBOOK Share your workout with your friends on Facebook with our easy to use integration. LARGE DISPLAY You can easily see your stats in real time with your current speed being the focal point. VIEW TIME PERIODS See the stats for the last run, last week, current month, or all time with the touch of a button as well as the ability to choose a specific track. MAP TYPES You can switch between 3 different map types including street, hybrid, and satellite view. UNITS The supports both standard and metric units. Note: Continued use of the GPS will reduce battery life.

Post to Facebook? . . No!!!

I love the app, but I was extremely disappointed when I received an automatic prompt asking if I want to post my running stats to Facebook (in the middle of my workout). No! I don't want Facebook invading every aspect of my life. Make it an option for those who want it, but don't impose it on the rest of us.

I've used it for two runs. First run I was about 4 1/2 miles in and even though it was set for verbal updates on each mile, I had yet to hear one. I tried to pause it so I could look back at the settings, but there really isn't a pause...just a stop and it resets itself when you start it back up, which was fustrating seeing as I was only half-way done with my run. I ran another 3 miles and never heard a verbal milage update. The next time I used it, I once again double checked that the verbal milage update was turned on, but wasn't getting the updates. Then, suddenly, at mile 6 I got a summary, and again at mile 7. Not sure why it kicked in. But then I had the same problem as everyone else...it paused my music to give the update and fails to start it back up. All that being said, since I run with my phone, it's nice to have the milage there, without having to bring a GPS watch. And I do like the summary info it supplies.

I'm new to apps but this does the trick for me. Now I know how far and how fast I'm going. The maps are great for seeing where I've been & finding some new variations on routes. Someone mentioned on an earlier review that the verbal mile counter didn't work for them. I hadn't realized that feature existed but once I figured out which audio needed to be turned up on my phone, it works great! I love the feedback on my run. I just have to remember the volume since I usually keep the sounds muted. Overall, a great easy to use app. Thanks!
