Add what you want to protect, choose a password, and save everything as an encrypted ZIP archive you can keep wherever you need and open whenever you want.
ENCRYPTED ARCHIVES, MADE SIMPLE
Choose a name, set a password, and add the files and folders you want to protect. Drag items in, or click Add to select them. A clear guided workflow walks you through the name, the password, the contents, and where to save the archive. When creation finishes, your password-protected ZIP is ready, with a short tip on how to open it later.
RECENTS
Recently created encrypted archives appear in Recents, so you can find them again quickly without hunting for the file.
STRONG AES ENCRYPTION
Protect Files uses AES encryption to safeguard your data. In Settings, choose 128-bit AES for everyday use or 256-bit AES for stronger protection.
Your encrypted archive is stored as a single ".zip" file on your Mac, an external drive, or a USB flash drive, so you can organize, store, move, and share protected files wherever you need them.
OPEN WHEN YOU NEED THEM
Double-click the archive and enter your password to access the files inside. Until then, the contents stay encrypted in the ZIP. The archive uses the widely supported WinZip AES format, so compatible tools can open it with your password.
DESIGNED FOR EVERYONE
You don’t need to set up encryption by hand, and you don’t need to be an expert. Protect Files guides you through creating a password-protected archive, so file protection stays simple and accessible.
