I really dug the Parodious influence here. A lot of attention went into the graphics, particularly the bosses. The only things keeping the game from a higher score are the controls and the absence of enemies in some sections. Even though I like idea, the raise/thrust button makes playing the game more difficult than it deserves to be. Maybe the airship can lack the instant sink in the future? The stick control works, but tends to overlap into the action. Add some more enemies or obsticles in those voids you have going on there, it kinda messed with the pace of the rest of the game. I think you dog deserves his own original music, I hope to hear it in a future update. Overall, a nice homage shooter!

Your dogship can take a wealth of damage, but die in the second stage or on and you'll have to start from the beginning of the game! That's horrible! Also, for a shooter, you can only move up and down and fire the same gun the whole time, resulting in boring gameplay. That said the backgrounds are gorgeous and the boss battles are wonderful hand drawn 2-D beauties. The music is all classis symphonies, which works well. Has potential, just needs work.
