Okay, but missing a couple of key features

The app generally does what it claims -- it hides files in the Finder. However, two things to note: 1.) Although the feature list claims it does, it does not in fact (as of version 1.1.1) allow you to launch hidden files; you must make the files visible in order to launch them. 2.) It doesn't hide files from the command line at all; anyone savvy enough to open the Terminal and type 'ls' can still see the files and/or folders you've hidden.

Hi Derek,If you go to the preferences window it will allow you to hide files by renaming them, breaking aliases, and putting them in a non-indexed folder. That will go a long way toward hiding them from terminal. This is not the default option because it's slower, but it is much more effective.

Doesn’t Work with Path Finder

If you use Cocoatech’s Path Finder (version 7) instead of the Mac Finder, selecting “Show Invisibles” will reveal all. Not only will your hidden files/folders be seen by anyone using your computer, they’ll be accessible even if you’ve set a password. The app seems to work fine with the Mac Finder but does not work with Path Finder. Please fix!

Hi, sorry for the confusion. The default settings only hide the files, but if you open preferences you can choose to move the files to a non-indexed folder and rename them, in addition to making them hidden. That will conceal them from Path Finder.

i debated between this app and another one which costs 3X the price of this one and I am glad I chose this one! It works just as it is described, and i was also able to hide folders on my shared hard drive via our air port express' USB port, I can't even explain how awesome that is. i have checked with my other macs and the files cannot be seen. I am running Lion 10.7.5 on a 15" i7 MBP

It works just as it is described, and i was also able to hide folders on my shared hard drive via our air port express' USB port, I can't even explain how awesome that is. i have checked with my other macs and the files cannot be seen.
