New in 2.0: Tahoe-style folder bases, batch apply for up to 500 folders, Finder Quick Action and Shortcuts support, plus .icns export.
Make every folder instantly recognizable.
Every folder in Finder looks the same. Folder Icon Maker composites your color, symbol, or image onto the real macOS folder look, so you get custom icons that match the system style in seconds. Not a sticker on top — an icon actually written into the folder, still there after a restart.
■ Three kinds of artwork
· Images: drop in PNG, JPG, HEIC, PDF, or SVG, or just press ⌘V
· Symbols: the full set of SF Symbols, browsable by category and searchable
· Text: 1–4 characters or an emoji, with font, weight, italic, and size controls
■ Bases that match the system
· System accent: follow the color macOS is using right now
· Tahoe style: optional paper edge for folders with content
· Big Sur light or dark, or fully transparent with artwork only
· Custom color with tint strength, plus embossed and rounded-sticker styles
■ Place it precisely
Drag to move, scale with eight handles, rotate from the corners, hold ⌥ to snap to center, scroll to zoom. Image and text each keep their own transform. Add a badge of up to 3 characters.
■ Batch without losing control
Drop a directory and its subfolders are expanded recursively, up to 500 at a time. Check items individually, watch live progress, and get a clear summary of applied, skipped, and failed results. Restoring default icons works in bulk too.
■ Export and take it with you
· .icns: for Xcode or replacing an icon via Get Info
· .iconset: ready for iconutil or actool
· PNG set: icon-16 through icon-1024
· Single max-size PNG: for the web or sharing
■ Works without opening the window
· Finder service: right-click selected folders and choose Set Icon with Folder Icon Maker
· Shortcuts: apply or restore icons in the background, ready for your automations
· Drop folders on the Dock icon, or paste an image
· Recent folders with ⌘1–⌘9
■ Written correctly, and verified
Set icons on folders, regular files, and disk volumes. Every write is read back and verified, so unsupported locations are reported immediately. App bundles and installers are skipped to protect their signatures.
■ Undo that actually restores
20 steps of undo that put your original icons back exactly as they were, plus 30 history entries you can reopen and keep editing.
■ Your files stay on your Mac
Fully local: no network, no account, no analytics. Sandboxed, with access only to the folders you pick.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Available in 10 languages.

AVOID THIS GARBAGE!!
Brett 613
I just bought this less than 15 minutes ago, enticed by the $1.99 sale price, and I quickly discovered how totally useless this software is. First, it only allows you to add an icon to its single, colored folder. You cannot combine your own folder icon and custom icon together. Second, as mentioned in other reviews here, the sizing controls are crap, totally useless. And finally, but most importantly, it alters the look of your icon in final output. Final product looks soft, low rez and colors shift. TOTALLY WORTHLESS. This is without question the worst app I have ever purchased. How do I get my money back for this junk?
Needs improvement
Cosmicjive
I intially thought this app lacked the ability to resize the icon, but discovered in the release notes that you can "scale the icon size with scroll wheel." The problem is that with the hardware I have, this is nearly impossible. With both my MacBook's trackpad and with a Magic Mouse, attempts to scroll cause the icon size to change *drastically*, making it sheer luck if you manage to get the size you are trying for. There needs to be an alternative method that allows for finite control. If this app had that, I'd give it 5 stars. Right now it is barely usable.
Frustration
LJuliet97
I am really frustrated with this product. I wish I could have tested it first. I thought it was going to be more the old Can Combine Icons application. * You can not use your own folder icon. At least not that I could see. You only have the choice of the 4 ugly folders they show you. * Resizing is so difficult! * When I try to apply the new icon to the folder. The icon goes blank. Please stop charging for this app! I hate wasting money!
Not all functionality advertised.

Nice interface, but the text functions only allow you to insert text. Despite the Font button you cannot adjust the size of the font. Despite the Color button you cannot color text. The base folders are also a little ugly except for a few options. Too bad there isn’t a broader range of folders. Needs more work.
· New interface with live preview
· Batch apply and bulk restore, up to 500 folders
· All SF Symbols, text, emoji, and images
· New Tahoe and transparent bases with custom tint
· New .icns and full PNG set export
· New Finder service, Shortcuts, 20-step undo, and icon history
