日本にはたくさんの難読地名、面白地名が存在しています。本アプリ「難読・面白地名辞典」には、日本各地に散らばる難読地名を約4000件、面白（珍）地名を約1000件、それぞれ県別、自治体別に収録されています。 難読地名は、読み方を答える「クイズモード」も収録。 難読地名や面白地名は、その背景に歴史的、地勢的、文化的な意味を持つ例が多く、読み方を知り、地図上の位置と照らし合わせることで、地名の持つ意味や奥深さを味わうことができます。本アプリで、楽しみながら難読地名や面白地名の正しい読み方を覚えることは、日本の地理や地方文化の成り立ちを知ることにもつながります。 その他付録として、「難読駅名」「難読バス停名」「中国地名の読み方」「海外地名漢字表記」「アイヌ語地名」などを収録しています。
