Glad to see the dev back after 2+ years. Really love this app and it was broken since Tahoe (plus broken in the Golden Gate beta). But now it works great again. Thank you! I really appreciate the update
Developer Response
Hi, Just coming back here in 2026.. took some time away from Spotica, but v6.0 is now available. As a solo developer sometimes life gets in the way. :)
Love this app

I’ve tried a few different ways to show the now playing song in menu bar, and Spotica is by far the most neat, stylish, and customizable app out there.
Perfect - No complaints!

This review is going to sound fake, that's how over-satisfied I am with it. It does what it advertises - displays your music playback - and more!Unfathomable levels of customization for what the menu and interface can look like. You can choose if you want the song title, name, etc to be displayed (And what color! Custom color, or a color based on the album art of the song that is being played). I didn't I was not expecting any customization, I am a very creative person, but I don't even know what new features I'd request! I'd easily pay $9.99 for a utility like this, especially to support this project. Best part? It's free! You can unlock even more options if you pay a few dollars, which I probably will, simply to support the devs. I was confused at first over all the options, but just click random buttons and you'll figure out what they all mean haha. My only request would be to have ~ 5 more slower scroll speed options for the menu bar (displays the current song title) as most of the options are very fast. But even then, there's already a decent variety of speeds available. Hope this service is always available, can't believe I haven't found this app sooner!!
Perfect

This is exactly what an app should be. It's so simple, customizable, and useful. I have it set up to fit in beautifully with my menu bar, and I love having my music constantly displayed so I can get the attention of anyone who looks at my laptop screen. Also, I'm very satisfied with purchasing the extra features; it's inexpensive and a one-time-purchase, unlike the many disgusting apps that litter the app store these days. I hate subscriptions, okay? Please get this app. It has changed my life. I wouldn't be me without it.
- Macos widgets!
- macOS 13 Ventura support is back!
- multi line text support on the menu bar (and independent scrolling)
- Lots of bug fixes
- CPU usage reduction
