You sneakily took away an app I paid for

I paid for a lifetime license years ago. An automatic update then swapped my app for the free version, and now the features I bought are behind a monthly or yearly subscription. No notice, no warning of any kind.I get that support and development cost money and cannot run forever. I never expected free updates for life. But any developer worth their salt handles this properly by grandfathering in existing customers, because that is what was sold: a one-off purchase for a working product. What happened here is effectively that the developer reached into my computer through an update and took away something I had already bought and paid for, and did it silently.That is a scummy way to treat paying customers.

I have the Encyclopedia Brittanica 1911. A previous viewer rasterized at high resolution. This app looks like 640 x 480 zoomed; text is unreadable. Link listed above does not link to any DiVu documentation; technical support link is 404.

Lots of scanned books and research papers come as DjVu and Preview can't open them. This viewer loads them fast, the text search works, and I can export pages to PDF when I need to. Lightweight and reliable.
