I’m loving the simplicity of this app. It’s exactly what I’m looking for — a way to journal my thoughts about a movie in a space that is not a social networking app.One feature I wish was available is the ability to tag/label for easier sorting/filtering of my list. I’m noticing as my saved films list gets bigger, it’s becoming unruly to sift through. I would love to be able to tag my films with keywords of my choosing for specific searching later on. E.g. I can’t just search my saved films for “horror.” I have to scroll through all my saved films (thats ordered by date saved) and hope I run into a horror movie.

Hi Chemanchap, thank you for your awesome review and feature recommendation. Having tags would be great and there are updates to come.If you have feedback don‘t hesitate to get in touch: feedback@simonbraun.eu — Best, Simon
Almost Great
Pweerd
This app is almost great but a few glitches get in the way.As the first glitch, the app crashes a lot...usually when searching. The second glitch is hard to catch. For some reason if you try to edit a log that is already saved the app often saves the date as one day later than the date you set it at. For example if you save a movie to your watch list for January 1st, 2019 then go back to edit the date to, say, January 3rd 2019 it will save as January 4th. Sometimes this can be corrected by editing it again, sometimes it takes several tries. After finding this glitch I don’t have any confidence in the saved data. The third glitch happens when searching. If you’ve already saved a movie to your list you can search and bring up that saved log. That’s great if you want to search if you’ve already watched a particular movie. But, if the movie title has an apostrophe, for instance “We’re the Millers”, the search function doesn’t recognize the movie is already in your list.If the developer can reduce the crashes and fix this date glitch I would definitely recommend this app.

Hi Pweerd, thank you for your feedback. The search crashes should be fixed with the next update. A Testflight build should be available today. Link to join the beta test can be found here: https://agiligator.cc/filmlog/betaAnd thanks for the description of the other bugs. I will dig into it and try to get bugfixes out within this or the next release. If you have more questions or feedback don‘t hesitate to get in touch: support@agiligator.cc — Best, Simon
Great except you can’t rate a movie!?!
gerald barry
Great for tracking movies you’ve watched. I just wish I could give ratings (1-5 stars)to what I’ve watched. Literally a deal breaker for this app. Otherwise it’s almost perfect.

Noted. Thank you for the feedback!
One time purchase option is nice

Been using filmlog for a minute now, and I did get a bit worried when I thought I needed to use a subscription for the features again, but all I had to do was hit restore purchase. Apologies for the confusion, keep up the good work!
Developer Response

Ready for iPhone Duo — plus a round of improvements and fixes.
NEW
• Filmlog is ready for iPhone Duo.
IMPROVED
• Search — a film found only through its titles in other languages now says in how many languages it matched, and a title in another language shows a small tag with its language.
• iPad — the poster page's actions sit on the page itself, centered next to the poster.
• Apple TV — a poster you picked for a film now shows there too.
FIXED
• A poster you picked while adding a film only showed up everywhere after restarting the app. // Thanks Steffen
• A poster picked on another device could stay blank on the film's page.
• Releases sometimes showed a film's poster in another language than the rest of the app.
• Someone you followed from Search only showed up in Releases after restarting the app.
• A film added to the watchlist or marked as seen from its page, the Inbox included, only showed up in the list after restarting the app.
• Switching to the Releases tab stalled the app for a moment.
• The System appearance stayed dark instead of following your device's light or dark mode.
• The search field floated far above the emoji keyboard.
• On iPad, a long To Watch note pushed its last lines and the cursor under the keyboard.
• Searching for people could show an error for people who exist only in the offline catalog.
• Half-star ratings ignored how your language writes decimal numbers.
• The screen title was unreadable on a film's age ratings and on its titles in other languages.
• A crash at launch with the Saudi Arabia, Egypt or Iran region format.
• On iPad in Arabic, the film poster sat under the action panel.
