My Kelp is a tool for ocean farmers enrolled in GreenWave’s Kelp Climate Fund to track the growth, quality, and climate benefits of kelp crops. The app helps farmers keep better records of their growing season to make informed farm decisions and communicate harvest quality to buyers.
My Kelp Features
-Guided sampling protocol to track kelp biomass, biofouling, and images per species on your farm
-Reports: Based on kelp biomass tracking, My Kelp calculates the estimated carbon and nitrogen removal of your farm so you can start to understand your farm’s climate impact.
-Farm log: record consistent farm data and refer back to them in years to come. Conduct year-over-year comparisons and make informed decisions to improve farming techniques for future seasons.
-Export and share: All the data in My Kelp is exportable and shareable. You own and control your data.
-Offline sync: On the water or at home, My Kelp works with or without an internet connection.
My Kelp is by GreenWave, a nonprofit dedicated to training and supporting ocean farmers in the era of climate change, working with coastal communities around the world to create a blue economy - built and led by farmers.
