Terra Incógnita takes the idea of travel and expedition with sound. Azores sit in the center of the Atlantic Ocean, behind Sete Cidades legends and discoveries amidst mists and adverse waters. They are the station that connects Europe to the United States, a land of fishing, agriculture and tourism, a living tectonic plate, a laboratory place for man's interference in the idea of landscape, an anthropocene of mutations and strength narratives between its people and nature. Mythified Earth, Plowed Earth, Transformed Earth, and even so, Terra Incógnita, Earth to be discovered. Terra Incógnita takes the idea of travel and expedition to propose a transdisciplinary artistic project that merges with the island of São Miguel and its communities. Based on a challenge addressed to artists of different artistic languages to think musically and performatically a specific territory, it will propose, over the course of two years, four programming moments that will implement new ways of relating to the natural, human and historical heritage of the island. At the base, a selected hiking trail to be activated with site-specific musical creations, multimedia installations and performative acts. At the end, a cycle of talks and other discussion actions that aim to provide a framework for the exchange experience proposed by the artistic residencies. We suggest that you travel to the selected trail. Each trial contained in this app allows you to listen to the soundtrack created by the selected artists and visualize the digital sculpture in AR. For a better experience we recommend that you download the music and AR elements in a location with good 5G or Wi-Fi connection.
