You can build a personal Phrasebook with categories, favorites, search, and one-tap common phrase generation. Doesn’t work

The main selling point, translation in our own voice, doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t even try to work. You read their speech while holding the microphone button and nothing happens at all. The translation feature is unusable: tiny buttons, and you have to press the tiny start button to start, a different tiny button to stop. And then it gives you the first the 15 words and hides the rest, with no way to get at the rest of the translation besides exporting the text to another app! So it’s not a useful tool for translation of any kind. And I had to pay $3 just to find out how worthless it is.

This update introduces a fully redesigned app experience with dedicated tabs for Home, Phrasebook, Conversation, Live Captions, and Settings. Live Captions is now available with language setup, translation toggle, adjustable caption behavior, and full session history. Conversation Mode is now available for real-time two-way translation, including conversation history and message details. Phrasebook has been expanded with categories, favorites, phrase generation, richer phrase actions, and improved browsing. New widgets are included for quick recording and favorite phrases, including lock screen support. A new Share Extension lets you translate text from other apps and save phrases directly. Apple Watch support has been added for quick recording actions and phrase playback access. iCloud-backed sync and migration are now available for transcriptions, phrasebook data, conversation history, and live caption history.
