Scheduler - James Chang
Schedule Your Way to Success
Free
Scheduler is an app that I began developing on September 12, 2022 in my freshmen year. I found the schedule to be unnecessarily complicated and hard to follow at first, so I decided to create a small program to tell me what classes I have on each day. That app quickly expanded into a full-on productivity app that now includes a calendar, todo-list, and a notes area. I hope that this app will be able to benefit rising freshmen and new students coming to PXHS just as much as I benefited from it!
- James Chang (6.8.2023)
WHY SCHEDULER IS BETTER THAN OTHER APPS:
• Specifically built for SAS PXHS's scheduling system
• Does not require internet to run
• Built with apple's native coding language (results in a smoother experience)
Moreover, Scheduler was created by myself independently, so any suggestions or changes can be implemented instantly.
APP FEATURES:
• A dashboard that shows the classes that you have for each block on any day
• A calendar that displays the events that you have entered
• A tasks and events list for you to plan out your day
• A notes page for you to write down important snippets throughout your day
I would like to thank Mr. McMillan for his continuous support and guidance during the many challenges of publishing this app, as well as Mrs. Leet for supporting my initial idea and helping me start this entire process. I would also like to thank everyone who gave me feedback about the app during the early stages of development!

App is quite helpful
Thanks Ryan! I'm glad that you find it useful.
Hi all! It has been a while since the last update. This update fixes the scheduling for the rest of the school year! Hopefully this helps. This is also the first update compiled with Xcode 26, so that's exciting. I've been working on updating the UI for macOS Tahoe, and that will be available soon.
Have a great day!
3.2 Mar 14
This update adds November 11 and 27 as break days for the automatic scheduling calendar.
3.1.4 11/24/2025
This update adds October 30 as a collaboration/break day to the automatic populating calendar.
3.1.3 11/05/2025
I just added this upcoming Thursday's collaboration day (9/25) as a break day to the automatic break days selection for the 25-26 school year.
3.1.2 09/22/2025
Hi all, this update adds the next upcoming collaboration day on September 9th to the break days calendar; the schedule should once again be correct now.
3.1.1 09/09/2025
In this update, I added the upcoming September 2 collaboration day as a break day (because the schedule temporary stops on that day). I also fixed a lot of bugs throughout the app, so it should be even smoother!

3.1 09/02/2025
I updated the automatic break days selection label to reflect the 25-26 school year. It is fixed now!
3.0.1 08/26/2025
Scheduler is updated to 3.0, and break days are updated for the new school year. Yay!

3.0 08/12/2025
Hi all, this is a long-overdue update to correct the schedule by one day; it was one day ahead due to another wellness day. Finals are happening soon (and APs), so this probably won't be too impactful; but oh well, better to push this update out sooner than later!
- James
2.3 05/02/2025
Hello amigos, this update pre-fixes the schedule rotation for March 1 and onwards by adding February 27 and 28 as break days. That's it for this update! More fixes and features may come soon.
- James
2.2 03/03/2025
This update fixes the rotation of the school days; I added the PSAT and wellness days as break days so that it matches up with the current schedule again. The removal of widgets is extremely unfortunate, but I have already vented about this in the MacOS update for 2.1, so I won't repeat myself here. The rest of the app should be working fine.
Have a great rest of your day!
James
2.1 11/11/2024
Hello everyone, this update temporarily fixed the schedule rotation by adding an extra break day at the start of the school year so that the automatic schedule works again.
- James
2.0.3 08/15/2024
Hello everyone, this update fixed an issue where the automatic break days selection was wrongly named "23-24" instead of "24-25". I also removed the original former setup page that was wrongly displaying after the new onboarding experience.
2.0.2 08/07/2024
Hello everyone, this update fixes a fatal issue in which the user is unable to go past the initial onboarding page. Sorry for the bug.
2.0.1 08/05/2024
WARNING: ALL STORED CONTENT WITHIN THE APP WILL BE RESET WITH THIS NEW MAJOR VERSION. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR INFORMATION WITHIN THE APP BEFORE UPDATING.
And with that pleasant message out of the way, welcome to Scheduler 2.0, finally!!! This major update brings widgets to Scheduler. You can now add the widgets to your Home Screen in order to view your daily schedule and tasks. In addition, I have updated the school year calendar to follow the 2024-2025 school year calendar according to the calendar found on saschina.org.
Just like the macOS version of Scheduler, the minimum OS requirements of Scheduler has been raised to iOS 17 in order to accommodate for more modern feature updates in the future. Stay tuned for those updates!
Have a great last couple of days of summer!

2.0 08/03/2024
Hello everyone, welcome to Scheduler 1.7! This update, similar to the macOS update, also updates the about page to better reflect my current grade level. Also similar to the macOS update, this update will most likely be the last 1.x update, as I will be beginning to shift and combine all the other small updates into a larger update in 2.0, which (also) will probably be released at the start of August!
Have a great rest of your summer!

1.7 07/14/2024
Hello everyone! This update should fix a small bug with the iOS version of Scheduler where the schedule would temporarily appear to be wrong. I think that this may have been due to the finals schedule and special events messing up the rotation, but anyways, it should be working now.

1.6.1 05/22/2024
Welcome to Scheduler 1.6! In this version, I prioritized speed over aesthetics with much faster instantaneous task completion (it literally couldn't be faster with the instant clicking). I also wanted to stick with my original design philosophy for this app, which is to be a tool that can benefit students as much as possible and be as simple as possible, so it shouldn't focus so much on the animations. I also combined tasks and completed tabs to one tab since it makes more sense that way. Users would also feel much better seeing their completed tasks beneath the tasks they still have to do (according to my mom, which I agree!).

1.6 03/14/2024
This update fixes many small bugs regarding visual transitions in the internal infrastructure of the app. It also adds an extended learning row for the daily planner in teacher mode (thanks Mrs. Andrew!)
1.5.1 01/19/2024
Whoo! Whoo! Whoo! After three months, I have added a TON of new features to iOS. There are so many changed aspects, in fact, that I think that it is deserving for it to skip an entire subversion. Teacher mode is now available, the dates and first day of school are automatic, and the efficiency of the entire app should be much faster now. All known bugs have been solved, including animations! I have also revamped the onboarding experience, and it is now closely mirroring its macOS counterpart. This will make it a lot easier for new users to begin using the app. Hopefully everyone will enjoy this update!

1.5 01/14/2024
Hello everyone, welcome to Scheduler 1.3 for iOS!
In this update, I also added back the events feature so that people can add their events to the calendar without having to write them down somewhere else. I also fixed many small bugs with the UI and UX during my testing of this app. In the future, I hope to establish a regular update schedule so that it is easier to manage the feedback and upcoming compatibility beforehand (I know I have said this before, but I have been prioritizing my grade 10 classes like Calculus BC and APUSH before this, so I didn't spend as much time publishing an update for both versions.)
I hope that you will enjoy this update as much as I enjoyed developing it!
- James Chang (Nov 15, 2023)
(Note: You may have noticed that I skipped version 1.2 for iOS. This is intentional so that I can sync the app versions of the macOS and iOS.)
1.3 11/16/2023
WARNING: this update contains changes that will affect the data from previous versions of the app. Remember to save your tasks and events somewhere safe before updating the app. The description for this update begins below:
Welcome to Scheduler 1.1 for iOS! This update mainly focused on making the iOS app very similar to the macOS version. The break days selector has been moved to the settings page, the background has been refined to a more neutral color (just like the translucent macOS style), and the interaction with tasks has also been made faster than before.
Similar to macOS, for those that would like to use the events tab to keep track of important dates, an update will be coming that makes the entire process much simpler and more visually easy to understand.
After this update, users will receive another iOS only update (1.2). After that, the updates between iOS and macOS will be synced and released at the same time. This will make the app more cohesive across different platforms.
Thanks for reading!
