GS-VST là ứng dụng nhằm phục vụ cho hoạt động đánh giá tuân thủ vệ sinh tay trong các cơ sở cung cấp dịch vụ y tế.
Theo WHO - tổ chức y tế Thế giới - việc vệ sinh tay đúng cách - đúng thời điểm sẽ giúp giảm nguy cơ lây nhiễm chéo trong chăm sóc y tế, dẫn tới giảm nguy cơ gây tử vong do nhiễm trùng.
GS-VST gồm các chức năng đơn giản: ghi nhận và gửi số liệu giám sát về máy chủ. Trong đó, số liệu giám sát gồm có:
- Đối tượng được giám sát: Bác sĩ, Điều dưỡng, và các nhóm nhân viên y tế khác.
- Thời điểm: các thời điểm thực hiện việc vệ sinh tay theo quy định
- Kỹ thuật thực hiện vệ sinh tay
Việc ghi nhận giúp hoạt động Kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn có cơ sở để tiến hành cải tiến nhằm mục đích nâng cao tỉ lệ tuân thủ vệ sinh tay.
