New in Shoo 2.0: keyboard shortcuts, hold-to-peek, Bring Windows Back, Shortcuts actions, a desktop widget and a smooth slide-away reveal.
Shoo clears your screen in one click. It hides every other app's windows and reveals the desktop, so you can get to your files, focus, or tidy up before sharing your screen. When you're done, bring everything back just as it was.
CLICK TO SHOO
Click Shoo in the Dock or the menu bar, and your windows are gone.
SHOO FROM ANYWHERE
Set a global keyboard shortcut in Settings and reveal the desktop from any app, without reaching for the mouse.
HOLD TO PEEK
Hold the menu bar icon or your shortcut to peek at the desktop. Let go, and your windows come right back.
BRING WINDOWS BACK
⌥-click the menu bar icon, pick Bring Windows Back from the menu, or give it its own shortcut. Shoo puts you back in the app you were using.
SLIDE OR HIDE
With the optional smoother reveal, windows slide away using macOS's own Show Desktop and return exactly as they were. Prefer them to stay away until you bring them back? Switch to Hide in Settings.
SHORTCUTS, SIRI AND AUTOMATION
Use the Reveal Desktop, Bring Windows Back, Toggle Desktop and Peek at Desktop actions in the Shortcuts app (macOS 13 or later), or trigger Shoo from Raycast, Alfred, Stream Deck and more with shoo:// links.
TIMED PEEK
Show the desktop for a few seconds, then bring the windows back automatically. Choose how long in Settings.
DESKTOP WIDGET
Add the Bring Windows Back widget to your desktop (macOS 14 or later) or Notification Center for a one-click way back.
THOUGHTFUL DETAILS
• Choose whether Shoo appears in the Dock, the menu bar, or both
• Launch at login
• A heads-up if the menu bar icon is hidden behind the notch or pushed out by other icons
• Available in English and Japanese
• No accounts, no tracking. Crash reports are sent only if you agree
SMOOTHER REVEAL (OPTIONAL)
Shoo works without any special permissions. For the slide-away reveal, you can grant Accessibility access; Shoo uses it only to send macOS's "Show Desktop" keystroke.
