KinetikIQ
Real-Time Movement Analysis
Free
Real-Time, Sensor-Free Movement Assessment.
KinetikIQ is the brand new release from Precision Sports Technology - providing fast, accurate information on movement patterns without the need for any sensors or wearables.
This app is the complete toolbox for physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers and therapists.
Instant Metrics
Once you record an assessment in the app, our AI system will generate automatic metrics on biomechanical movement patterns including range of motion, velocity, asymmetries and instabilities, allowing you to get instant, objective data on your client's movement quality.
In Version 1, the metrics generated are highly sport science focused, with later releases catering to patients and athletes with greater accessibility.
Custom Exercise
No limitation on exercises and no need to wait for Precision Sports Technology to provide the capability to get analysis on the movement pattern you need. With custom exercises, simply select key points to measure, hit save and ready to go!
Group Management, Long-Term Analysis
Save your athlete or patient profile in the app and generate their profile over time to learn any progressions or regressions in movement patterns.
more The description for the app sounds amazing but once you’ve gone through the process of downloading the app and creating an account you’ll find that there is no way to analyze movement inside the app which makes the entire app useless.

KinetikIQ Version 1.10.0 - Release Notes
This release focuses on improving reliability when recording assessments with unstable internet connection and fixing key bugs that impacted the visibility of angles and upload flow.
Queue assessment uploads
- Assessments recorded while offline will now be saved locally and uploaded automatically once the device regains an internet connection. No action is needed - uploads happen in the background, so you can record with confidence even in low-connectivity settings.
No LiDAR sensor error message
- Some Pro devices were incorrectly displaying a “No LiDAR Sensor detected” message, despite using the LiDAR sensor correctly. This message has now been removed. If your device supports LiDAR, it has always been used where available.
Angles disappear when changing exercises in-app
- In some cases, expected angles would not appear when switching exercises. This was caused by the app incorrectly limiting the number of joints displayed based on the previously selected exercise. This has been fixed - angles will now show as expected when exercises are changed.
Assessments not sent to upload later panel if WiFi was lost in recording scene
- If internet connectivity was lost while recording, some assessments were not making it to the upload later queue. These will now be properly queued and uploaded when the connection is restored.
Coming up
- Edit athlete/patient groups directly in the app
- More accurate 3D model positions tailored to each exercise, instead of using generic poses
Thanks for using KinetikIQ - your feedback helps us make each release better. More improvements are on the way!
1.10.0 08/06/2025
KinetikIQ Version 1.9.0 – Release Notes
We’re excited to announce version 1.9.0, which brings powerful new tools for assessment management and angle calculation precision. These enhancements are designed to improve flexibility, user autonomy, and data fidelity across our platform.
Trim/clip assessments in-app
- Customers can now trim the start and/or end of an assessment video within the app. This is useful when extra footage is recorded before or after the athlete performs the actual movement.
Organisational management foundation
- Backend support for managing users at the organisation level has been added. This lays the groundwork for future admin features such as assigning roles, and centralised oversight across multiple accounts.
Calculate mobility angle by anchor joint and zero-angle definitions
- Mobility angles are now calculated using a joint-specific anchor and absolute zero reference. For example, in ankle assessments, a 90-degree reference between the knee, heel and toes is used to differentiate between plantar flexion and dorsiflexion depending on the direction of movement. This improves accuracy when distinguishing between flexion and extension.
This release continues our focus on giving customers more control over their assessments and improving the accuracy of mobility insights. We’re excited to keep building features that support your workflow and make the platform even easier to use. Thanks for being with us on the journey.
1.9.0 07/16/2025
KinetikIQ 1.8.0
This update introduces key improvements that make the app more reliable during assessments, along with smoother handling of background processes.
- Improved system performance
We’ve made changes behind the scenes to streamline how the app handles user access. These improvements reduce unnecessary background activity, helping the app run more efficiently and reliably.
- Better recording stability
We’ve fixed a bug that was causing your selected exercise and athlete to be cleared as soon as you hit record. This issue occasionally prevented assessments from uploading properly. Your selections will now stay locked in as expected throughout the session.
- Tilt cue behaviour is now smarter
For jump assessments, we use a tilt visual cue to make sure the device is upright. That cue will now appear automatically when you select a jump, and it will disappear again if you switch to another exercise - provided tilt has been disabled in your settings. This ensures jump recordings stay accurate, without showing the tilt overlay when it’s no longer needed.
1.8.0 07/03/2025
KinetikIQ 1.7.0 – Release Notes
Version 1.7.0 focuses on polishing up key workflows, removing unnecessary clutter, and fixing persistent UI bugs across registration, exercise management, and recording. These updates aim to improve clarity and usability for both staff and athletes using the platform day-to-day.
Fixes and improvements
Debug mode removed
- Debug mode has been removed from the app interface. It was used internally by engineering to review framerate and other diagnostics, but is not relevant for end users and only added visual clutter.
Athlete registration
- Fixed an issue where the 'Hide face' checkbox could not be toggled on during athlete registration.
- Groups created during athlete registration are now correctly visible for the next athlete you register.
Exercise list
- Favourite exercises are now correctly moved to the top.
- The beta tag is no longer stuck on all exercises.
Hide face
- Fixed an issue where the hide face setting was not correctly reading the variable and therefore not behaving as expected.
Coming soon
- Trim recordings in-app before uploading, so you only keep what matters
- Automatically upload completed assessments as soon as the app reconnects to the internet
Thanks for all the ongoing feedback and testing support. As always, if you notice anything that isn’t quite right, or you have a suggestion for improving the workflow, just let us know. We’ll continue to release updates regularly as we work toward a more streamlined and powerful platform.
1.7.0 06/25/2025
KinetikIQ 1.6.0 – Smarter tracking, easier organisation, better control
This release brings major improvements that make assessments more reliable, athlete management more streamlined, and the app more intuitive overall.
- Main skeleton targeting
We've made it easier to stay focused on the right athlete or patient during recording. The system now identifies the main skeleton based on who’s most central in the frame. Once you hit record, that skeleton is locked in—ensuring the data you collect stays consistent. If your target moves out of view, the app now automatically stops recording, helping prevent incomplete or unusable assessments.
- Group management, built in
Managing athletes or patients just got much simpler. You can now create and edit groups directly in the app—no need to set them up elsewhere. When adding a new athlete, you’ll assign them to a group straight away, making it easier to organise, sort, and sync your data.
- Cleaner, more responsive interface
Popups are now easier to dismiss—just tap anywhere on them to close. It’s a small change that makes the app feel faster and more natural to use.
- Smarter camera handling
Some Pro devices were defaulting to the standard camera instead of LiDAR. That’s now fixed, so you’ll always get the most accurate depth data available. If the app doesn’t have permission to access the camera, we now show a clear “Open Settings” button so you can fix it with one tap.
- Performance upgrades
This version includes a range of behind-the-scenes improvements to keep things running smoothly and prepare for upcoming features.
Coming soon
- Trim recordings in-app before uploading, so you only keep what matters
- Automatically upload completed assessments as soon as the app reconnects to the internet
Thanks for your continued support
We’re continuing to improve KinetikIQ with your feedback in mind. Whether it’s through clearer visuals, smoother session management, or smarter features, our aim is to support your work and help you get the most from every assessment.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions, we’re always keen to hear them.
1.6.0 06/05/2025
KinetikIQ Release Notes 1.5.0
Thanks as always for your continued support and input. Below is a summary of what’s included in this update, along with a preview of what’s on the way.
What’s New
- Device tilt visualisation
We’ve added a tilt indicator to help you see how far your device is from a straight, neutral position during use. A value of 0 means the device is perfectly straight. The number increases the more the device is tilted.
Please note that this measure includes tilt on both the x-axis (pitch — tilting forward or backward) and the z-axis (yaw — rotating left or right). This means that even if your device appears level front-to-back, a sideways rotation will still register in the tilt value. Use this visualisation as a quick guide to improve device alignment and data quality.
Coming Soon
- Athlete group management from the app
Soon you’ll be able to create athlete groups, and add or remove athletes from them, all directly within the app. This will simplify session setup and streamline athlete management without needing to switch between platforms.
- Relevant skeleton highlight
To make it easier to identify which skeleton is being assessed in sessions with multiple athletes, we’re introducing a visual highlight. This will indicate which skeleton’s data is currently being used, giving you a clear and immediate cue during recordings.
