New: writing templates you fill in with a few fields, including the 5-minute journal, and your month as mini polaroids in Dates.
Diariste is your private journal, designed to help you truly write, day after day. A caring community since 2010, with more than 85,000 members.
A brand new app
The app has been completely rebuilt. It opens in an instant, pages glide under your finger, and your whole journal fits in your pocket.
Your memories on your home screen
The Memories widget brings back an entry you wrote on this day in a past year. The Live journal widget draws the sky of your day and lets you add a note in one tap.
Your journal on your wrist
Diariste is also on Apple Watch. Add a note to your live journal in a second: dictate it or record a voice note, without reaching for your phone. Your day's dial fills up as the hours go by, and today's memory is one turn of the crown away. (Live journal is a Premium feature.)
Meet Lumi
Lumi is your caring writing companion. When the words won't come, you talk to Lumi. He listens without ever judging, and can turn your conversation into an entry you keep in your journal.
Write your way
Text, photos, audio, videos, mood of the day, keywords, fonts and colors. And if you don't feel like typing, voice dictation turns your voice into text you can read over and edit.
A journal for every chapter of your life
Create as many journals as you like: daily life, pregnancy, travel, reading, gratitude, childhood memories... each with its own atmosphere.
Look back on your year
Statistics, calendar, moods over the months: Diariste turns your entries into a gentle overview of how you've grown. Never judgmental, always to help you understand yourself better.
Coming from another app?
Import your journal from Day One, Daylio, Journey or a Markdown file. Your whole history comes with you.
Your privacy first
Your entries are private by default. Lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID, turn on two-factor authentication, and see at a glance which devices are signed in to your account. With a legacy contact, you choose who will receive your journal when you're gone.
Easy on the eyes at night
Dark mode rests your eyes when you write late, and discreet mode keeps your journal away from prying eyes.
A real community
Discover, share and connect with other journal writers, anonymously or not, and take on the monthly writing challenges.
And one day, a real book
Whenever you like, turn a year of entries into a beautiful printed and bound book. Something to keep, to give, to pass on.
Diariste is free. Go Premium for unlimited writing, multimedia, multiple journals, Lumi and time capsules.

What's new in 4.6.6 to 4.6.8:
• One line for today: after a week without writing, a short question of the day is waiting, one line is enough (kept private)
• Pick your reminder time and turn on notifications as soon as you open the app
• Memories: a monthly calendar to pick the day you want to read again
• Fill-in writing templates: complete a few fields and Diariste lays out your entry
• New template: the 5-minute journal, to fill in the morning and finish in the evening
• Every template has its own photo, and your answers can become free text at any time
• Lumi is waiting at the top of the templates to help you write about anything (Premium)
• Dates: your month as mini polaroids, with your important dates always visible
• Read access: each confidant's profile photo next to their username
• Videos: a real preview, their length, their size and the space left in your entry
• A video that is too heavy is compressed to fit the space left
• Live journal: all your moods now fit on one line, no scrolling
• Written offline: your entry keeps the time you wrote it
• Simpler sign-up and stronger account security
• Small fixes and improvements
