This is a great app for those who have transitioned to an ultra wide monitor — I’m using the LG ultra view 45”. I host online trining and require multiple monitors to perform my task — monitor #1 OBS, monitor #2 power point (presenter view), monitor #3 zoom, browsers, and miscellaneous software. That took up a lot of desk space and was killing my GPU (MacBook Pro Ultra M2). The old monitor setup was some Thunderbolt 2 displays I found on market place for $300 each — eventually the LED displays went out and the cables stopped working. Apple wanted $1700 each for Thunderbolt 3 displays and LG wanted $1000 for an ULTRA WIDE.The ultra wide is nice but I faced a new problem — power point when in presenter view is a window hog. I need presenter view to teach my classes and presenter view blocks all other windows (chat, OBS, zoom, browsers…)This virtual window software presented a solution and introduced a new problem at the same time — more of a learning curve I hope. I setup three virtual windows and spaced them evenly across the LG Ultra Wide screen. No matter what virtual screen I have power point on, it will always launch presenter view on the main LG screen — covering all the virtual windows. Power point does have an option to dedicate slide show to a monitor (virtual screen), but the effect is the same.I tried contact the developer about this discovery (bug) with the hopes there might be a setting I haven’t discovered — or maybe an advanced setting (future update). The support link (App Store) sends you to a website with a dead link. There is no way to contact the developer outside of a review. This software has great potential for folks that use presentation software on ULTRA Wide displays — it just needs an update and/or advanced settings.Tahnks Joe

This is a very interesting app! It's basically a way to force an app to support the awesome Split View feature of modern MacOS. Many, many, many apps (especially games) do not support this feature, and create a lot of needless window decorations and thus screen real estate overhead by not supporting Split View. Virtual Display Pro allows us to fullscreen an app on a virtual display, then put that virtual display in a Split View on an ultrawide monitor. This has obvious benefits and should honestly be a built-in feature of MacOS to force Split View to work with lazy programs that don't advertise support for it. This app is really awesome and I'm impressed by the speed at which they have improved the app through recent patches as well. Worth every penny. Responsive developer and the app is unexpectedly fast for what it does.

Overall, the idea is great, but didn't seem to work for what I was looking for. I wanted to use a single 3840x2160 monitor as 4 virtual 1920x1080 monitors. This sort of works in theory, but the auto-scaling feature really got in the way, as did the extra application title bars. If you could lock virtual monitors to be their native resolution and be able to operate in "full-screen mode" with no title bar, this would do precisely what I needed.

I use this to mirror a screen to an individual desktop - so that I can see what’s on the projector on its own desktop (or in miniature on another desktop) and still be able to do some behind the scenes magic on another desktop without having to crane my neck back and forth between my presenter screen, my behind-the-scenes screen, and the projector.
