I’ve tried so many Jellyfin music players. Many work, but none that I’ve tried seem as well featured as Manet. This is the first one I’ve tried that has CarPlay, for a start. It also plays in the background, has a great UI, has add-to-queue function, displays the song library with thumbnails and text instead of just thousands of thumbnails, and has intelligent options for media quality and downloads. These are all things I found missing in one way or another in the battery of alternatives I tried. I’ve just paid for the annual subscription, not because there are any paywalled features that I want (because there are very few) but just to support ongoing development.

This is a beautifully done app. It has all the things that give it that iTunes/Swift native app look and it has pretty much all the features you would want from an app like this- except just 3 small things that I would LOVE to see. The first thing is small but allowing you to add another server for specifically when you’re off wifi would be very nice to see. I haven’t seen that in a lot of other apps so that would make this a really good one, especially if you made it like a “Manet+”. Secondly I would absolutely love to see the little A-Z sliders that you can use on the actual iTunes/Music app (the one on the right side of the albums page) as it makes it easier to go through your library. Finally I would just love to see someone made specially for when you rotate your phone or just support for it as that would be greatly appreciated. Overall great app though and worth its subscription for the mac version!

I have only been using it for a day or so, but I like the layout and functionality so far. It doesn’t seem to pickup any of the artists from the library section, but if you search for the artist, they appear. I’m also not able to add songs to playlists. It does say it successfully added the songs, but doesn’t. I noticed that in between the end/beginning of songs, there’s occasionally a replay of the last two seconds of the previous song. At least for when only listening to downloaded songs. A few small bugs. Also, I wish I could download my full library from one button. The app does appear in car play! Excited to see what comes from this appUpdate: in latest version, the app has an issue transitioning between downloaded songs. It will freeze up for 10-30seconds.

Decent app hindered by some key deficiencies

It’s a decent app with some key deficiencies that if resolved would make it significantly better than anything else.1. There’s no alphabetical index/jump list when scrolling. If you have hundreds and hundreds of artists, it’s a nightmare to scroll endlessly until you get to “S”. An extremely simple feature that should be built in.2. Crashes when deleting songs from playlists. Don’t know why it does this but it happens reliably and consistently across different devices (e.g., iPhone 13/14, Androids, whatever).3. Different users’ playlists showing in yours. Distinct users with their own logins will have merged playlists even if separated in the Jellyfin server. Didn’t do this at first, but did after a time.4. No ability to rename or delete playlists, which is a major issue imo.5. No themes. I desperately want a black/dark theme, or just design options in general.6. No ability to change font size or perspective. The good: works much more smoothly than other Jellyfin apps I’ve tried and is by far the best at accurately reading/organizing metadata without having a mess of the artists’ lists. That’s the main reason I use it; several other apps are superior from a design and ease of navigation perspective.If they fixed these issues it’d be perfect.

* Fix importing syncing issues with large playlists * Group album tracks in movements for classical music * Improve cover image caching for offline album art * Add a protocol picker when signing into the app * Add alternative hostname support along with support for switching using Shortcuts (requires Manet+) * Add search bar to the 'Add to playlist' view A few days ago Manet celebrate its second available year on the App Store - thank you all for your continued support!
