VeryReal 5.1.9 (853) • Messages that arrived while you were offline now arrive on their own — you no longer have to restart the app to see them. • Unread badges clear when you open a chat, and stay in step with the server across your devices. • Muted chats show "999+" instead of a runaway unread number. • Fixed a chat list that could come up blank on a cold start and stay blank. • Very long messages are now shortened with a "More" link instead of filling the screen. • Group activity reads correctly — someone leaving is no longer announced as joining. • Opening a deleted account now says the account no longer exists, instead of showing a blank profile. • Search no longer shows "no results" while it is still loading. • Removed a duplicated intro row at the top of conversations. • Moments videos that used to spin forever now time out and offer Retry. • Fixed a crash when leaving the Explore tab quickly. • iPhone: the camera permission prompt now appears before a mini-program needs the camera, instead of failing silently.

NEW • Apps tab — every mini program now has its own tab in the main navigation, laid out four to a row, so you no longer have to hunt for them above the Moments feed. IMPROVED • Conversations feel tighter and more familiar — we trimmed the extra space between messages, so more of your chat fits on screen. • Camera controls now stay put in portrait, and the icons rotate with your device. • Clearing the cache actually frees space now, and tells you how much it recovered. • Face ID / Touch ID no longer gets stuck asking again and again when unlocking the app. FIXED • Opening certain chats could freeze the app and drain the battery. Fixed — those conversations now open normally. • Chats that opened to an empty window now show your messages. • Your chat list and contacts appear right away on launch instead of coming up empty. • Messages the sender recalls now disappear immediately instead of lingering until you restart. • A profile now shows when someone was genuinely last online. • If your session expired in the background, the app recovers on its own instead of erroring on every tap. • Saved GIFs stay animated, and saved photos keep their original quality. • Videos and voice notes in Moments loop again. • The Following list no longer repeats or hides people. • Group join requests keep their unread state after you sign back in. • Sending the first message in a brand-new chat no longer shows it twice. • Internal error text no longer appears as pop-ups.

This update fixes several chat, camera, and video issues. Chat • Groups you've left no longer send you messages, and chats you swipe away stay deleted after you sign back in. • Tapping "new messages" now takes you to the right spot — and scrolling on from there loads the messages that actually follow, instead of jumping to the newest ones or to much older ones. • Smoother scrolling: the message list no longer jumps or flickers as you scroll up and down. Camera & video • Photos and videos are now captured in 16:9, matching exactly what you see in the preview. • Saving a video to your gallery is more reliable, and now shows download progress. • Video length now displays correctly. Thanks to everyone who reported these — please keep the feedback coming.

This update makes media load faster, improves the camera, and smooths out group chats. Media • Photos, videos, voice notes, stickers, and avatars load faster and more reliably across Chat, Moments, and World. • Fixed saving videos to your gallery — no more getting stuck at 0%, now with a download progress indicator. • Broken photo thumbnails now fall back to the full image instead of a blank placeholder. Camera • The in-chat camera is now full-screen with no black bars, supports landscape, shows a recording timer, and captures in 16:9 to match the preview. Chat & groups • Large, busy group chats no longer open blank or jump to old messages when you scroll — history loads in the right order. • Tapping the "unread messages" banner now jumps straight to your first unread message. • Call records show the caller's name and photo and stay in place when you reopen a chat. Replies & translation • A quoted reply now shows the correct original message when auto-translate is on. • The translation panel now shows the language name instead of a code. Mini-programs • The mini-program row on Chat now scrolls, and mini-programs open cleanly without a brief "failed to load" flash. Plus Face ID unlock for the app lock, and a range of stability and performance improvements.
