New for the season: an Apple Watch app to run practice from your wrist, plus a live practice timer on your Lock Screen. Draw, plan and coach in one app. The Hoops Geek is the basketball coaching app for drawing plays, running practice and managing your team. Draw a play in seconds and watch it animate automatically. Now with an Apple Watch app to run practice from your wrist. Rated 4.9 stars by coaches. Trusted by 200k+ users. DRAW PLAYS IN SECONDS Drag and drop players and actions onto the court: dribble, pass, cut, screen, handoff and shot. Everything snaps into place, so your diagrams look clean without any extra work. EVERY PLAY ANIMATES AUTOMATICALLY No video editing. Every action you draw is animated instantly, phase by phase. Add a short note to each phase so players know exactly what to read and why. Players understand the play the first time. YOUR OWN PLAY LIBRARY Organize every play and drill in your own folders and add tags. Search by name and find the right play in seconds. PRINT-READY PLAYBOOKS Turn your plays into complete playbooks with chapters and explanations. Share them with your team as a link or export a clean PDF for print and offline use. PLAN AND RUN YOUR PRACTICES Build structured practice plans with drills, plays and notes. Then run practice live: a timer for every drill, what's next, and whether you're ahead or behind schedule. NEW: APPLE WATCH APP Run practice from your wrist. See the current drill, the time left and the next drill, and move on with one tap. Adjust time with the Digital Crown and add notes by dictation. Your practice timer also appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. PLAN YOUR ROTATIONS BEFORE THE GAME Lay out who plays when, quarter by quarter, and see every player's minutes at a glance. Fair playing time, planned ahead. MANAGE YOUR SUBS IN-GAME Track the game clock and playing time live. Color-coded bars show who needs a rest, and your planned substitutions remind you when they're due. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TEAM (TEAM PLAN) With a Team subscription, team chat, tasks, attendance and a shared calendar keep players and staff on the same page. Assign a play to study and see who has done it. WHAT COACHES SAY "Best play designer app I've used. Simple, easy to use, just works!" "It's easy to use for the coach and easy for the players to understand the animations." FREE AND PRO Start free and save up to 5 plays. Subscribe for unlimited plays and video export. The Team plan adds team chat, tasks, attendance and the calendar, with accounts for your coaching staff and players. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Great app!

The coach that never knew
From a kid that loved basketball but never learned from a playbook, to a man that volunteered to coach. This app really helped tremendously with generating some basic plays. Also get to add catchy names that the kids like, which adds a motivational boost to executing them.

This app is great for creating videos and visuals for coaches and teams to store and use. The only reason it didn’t get 5 starts is because although there is an “optional” button I wish you could do more with plays that have different options.

Good but you have to pay

The app is very good to show and make plays but the worst thing about this app is that after you make 5 plays you have to pay monthly or annually for $8 and it really annoys me that I would have to pay after I made 5 plays

This app is so well made you can really tell the designers know basketball and know what coaches need to convey plays to their team. This app has made coaching a lot easier.

Run your practices from your watch • Apple Watch app: see the current drill, the time left and what’s next, and move on with one tap. No need to reach for your phone on the sideline. • Practice timer on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you always know how much time is left. • Live practice runner: follow your plan block by block and see at a glance if you’re ahead or behind schedule. Thanks for coaching with Hoops Geek! Love the update? A rating helps other coaches find us.
