I have been using ideaShell for several months now and I love it! I have no idea how many other speech to text apps I have downloaded, but at least 35. For taking quick notes, ideaShell is the gold standard I compare them all to, and none comes close.I use ideaShell in the car. I drive frequently for hours at a time because I have a very large area that I cover for work, and I think of a lot of things while I’m driving. It’s so easy to press my iPhone's action button to record a note. In fact, Apple should think ideaShell, because I upgraded my phone a little earlier than I intended just to get the action button. ideaShell is the first thing I had in mind for it. Aside from that, I use ideaShell to remind me of things I want to keep track of, for things my kids want, need, say, or do, for health notes and just about anything else.This app does well for quick notetaking, summaries that don't sound too "AI," clear transcripts, great auto tagging, great organization, and visuals that I find appealing. The other apps I've tried generally do one or more of those things well, but not all of them.I don't have a connection to ideaShell, it's just my very favorite app.

I fully Rant an idea shell. it spits out a two second response. A thoughtful and provocative revision of what I’ve ranted to the T, no skipped insight. Truly enlightening, It’s taught me how to have effective conversations with AI. It’s best if you unload to a short degree and then stay within that context, basically, letting AI control the conversation. They are human like in that way as long as their backgrounds are minimized and cleaned up. I don’t know what ideaShell secret is, but it keeps up no matter what thank you ideaShell and I’m sorry for what I put you through lol
Constant vibration occurring when I use the app.

So I just downloaded this app and there are two glitches that are becoming really annoying. The first problem is the constant phone vibration that occurs when I’m using that app, and it is only this app that causes this because my other apps do not have my phone do that. Another issue, is that when AI replies to me, I am unable to see the full message. It cuts off and shows 3 dots indicating that there’s more to read, I have tried to click on that and it doesn’t open up the rest of the message. When AI sends me a paragraph it cuts off abruptly leaving me wondering what else I was suppose to read. The layout is a bit confusing, maybe I need to watch more tutorials. Overall it’s not a terrible app, it has great potential to become very useful and handy.
An Unfortunate Two Stars Due to Unreasonable Pricing

I was immediately intrigued by this app as it has a pretty gorgeous user interface compared to competitors that I have used and still use today. Unfortunately after just a day of use I’ve already come to the conclusion that it just has no place in my software stack. The points based subscription system is awful.I always make sure to avoid companies that use a point-based subscription system as in my opinion that’s just a way for them to overcharge their customers and to mislead customers on what they are actually getting for their money.The other really misleading Thing and what off puts me even more is that they try to hide what AI model they are actually using. We all know they are most likely using a custom prompt with ChatGPT or Claude, yet they try to claim that they are using their own models by giving them vague labels such as O1 and O2. Please, do better Ideashell. This could have been something useful but instead seems like a cash grab. If it’s not a cash grab, allow a one time purchase with BYOK or rework your pricing structure and get rid of the ridiculous points system.
