Turn every task in your Obsidian vault into a real Apple Reminder, with alerts, widgets, Siri, iPhone and Watch. Two-way sync, private, no account needed.
ReminderSync for Obsidian turns the tasks in your notes into real Apple Reminders. Write a task in Obsidian, Logseq or any Markdown editor and it appears in Reminders.app, with alerts, widgets, Siri and, via iCloud, your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Complete it on either side and both stay in sync.
REMINDERS FOR MARKDOWN TASKS
Tasks created in Markdown documents will be added to Reminders.app
SUPPORTS ANY EDITOR
Use your favourite Markdown notes editor (e.g. Obsidian, Logseq, NotePlan, TaskPaper, Vim, Emacs, Visual Studio Code).
TWO WAY SYNCING
Completing a Reminder will complete the synced Markdown task, and completing the Markdown Task will complete the Reminder.
SUPPORTED TASK FORMATS
Task metadata (due date, scheduled date, priority, completion) is understood in five dialects:
- Obsidian Tasks emoji format (calendar-emoji dates and priority arrows)
- Obsidian Dataview format ([due:: 2026-07-10], [priority:: high])
- NotePlan (>2026-07-10 dates, @done, ! priorities)
- Logseq (native TODO/DOING/DONE bullets, DEADLINE and SCHEDULED, [#A] priorities)
- TaskPaper style @tags (@due, @defer, @done, @priority)

Buggy
HomeWorkBuddy
It silently deletes tasks in other list that you didn’t set as target and it is not supposed to sync.
Developer Response
Greetings, can you please send some details of this issue to remindersync@turquoisehexagon.co.uk This should definitely not be happening! Only Reminder lists configured for syncing should be managed by ReminderSync.
The missing puzzle piece for Obsidian macOS
TurningPagesinBooks
I am a huge Obsidian fan, but a huge missing piece has been integration with macOS / iOS. This integration removes a major pain point of Obsidian by syncing tasks with the Apple Reminders app. I had a feature request (to filter tasks) and the developer was extremely quick in their response! An amazing app that just works, and essential for anyone using macOS and Obsidian.
Been wanting this forever
jbalby
I've attempted to build something like this so many times. I really like using Obsidian tasks, but need it to be more visible and accessible on my phone, and Reminders is perfect for that. Thank you! So far so good.
Fantastic!

More people should know about this app. It works perfectly and combines the best of the Obsidian Tasks plugin and Apple Reminders, both of which keep getting better and better. Thanks for writing it.
Bug fixes and Performance Optimisations.
