Looks like they deleted my old review. New app is still garbage. Old app was 1000x better. There’s literally nothing useful in the new app, it’s impossible to track your training. The metrics are all useless, and all the relevant metrics are pay walled. They’ll say they gave us “many more free features” but the free features are all useless. The only use of the app, up to now, was to just do my workout and just memorize the scores, because like I said, you can’t even properly track your progress on this app like you could the old one. But guess what, now I can’t even use the app for that. The last few weeks, every time I train on the Kbox, it doesn’t even record my reps anymore. I’ll literally do 15 reps and it records nothing. Then when I stop the wheel it will record 1 single rep. Or as soon as I put in power it just stops. It’ll go 1,2……..8. Do we no longer understand the purpose of feedback? I need to see measurements each rep. The purpose of feedback is to back is to compete against the feedback you get. If I no longer get feedback, this is now just a blind workout. It’s like the goal is to make the app worse. The free features are garbage. The paid features are almost entirely garbage. There’s literally like 2 metrics that were important to me before they switched us to this terrible app, which are now bundled up with a bunch of useless stuff and pay walled. And the ability to track progress is non existent. Who the hell needs to track consistency? Who ever thought making the progress chart look like a GitHub graph was a good idea. The progress trackers provide zero information of use. The old progress tracker was perfect. I had like 7 years of data in there, I could see exactly what I needed to see, I could interpret when I was improving or not improving so easily. Now it’s impossible. Totally useless. You could literally delete this entire app, give us peak power, average power, and force. Then give us a line or bar chart to show values over time (like the old app) and that would be a perfect app. Literally 3 metrics and a line chart is it. That’s useful data. Idk what I’m supposed to do with a bunch of random boxes that provide no data, other than telling me my consistency level. What the hell is that. Best thing Exxentric could do is go back to the old app, which was useful, provided all relevant data, made tracking your progression over time extremely easy and useful and never gave me a problem for like 7 years or something. This new app is garbage. They’ve fallen for the modern trend of making your app look fancy while making the user experience an absolute nightmare. Every update makes the app worse, but at least it looks fancy.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. Regarding the %-drop that change was a miscommunication and we are correcting that in the coming version. We would be interested to hear more in details what you feel is clunky so we can look into that. Being users of the old app ourselves for years I think this version is much more responsive and easier to use. I does however have a lot more features like setting up workouts and even training plans. About your normal workout it sounds like you would benefit going creating your workout by adding the exercises, adjust the first set with desired inertia and stop conditions and then just add sets (they will the inherit same settings). When you are done before starting training you can save it as a custom workout or if you go to results and view your old session you can choose "train again". This will save you a lot of time and you can also easily create variations of these workouts and also put them together in a training plan if you like. Hope that helps. If you want to specify more could be improved or what you miss in the app please let us know and we would be happy to add it to our list of updates. Our existing users was a priority when we migrated to this new app platform so your feedback is important. You can reach us at appsupport@exxentric.com

Received extensive support to resolve an issue with the 1st rep apparently not recording correctly. Outstanding app support and personal service.

Developer Response
Hi Darryl,We’re sorry for the frustration this has caused, and we appreciate the detailed testing and information you have shared with us through App Support. We have now tested the scenario you described extensively with several users and devices, including sets where the first repetitions are deliberately slower and the following repetitions are performed with much greater effort. In our testing, the app has consistently displayed the change in force and power on the correct repetitions.Rep values are calculated in the same way regardless of whether a repetition is marked as a pre-rep or a working rep, so the pre-rep setting itself does not alter the recorded data.Since your results appear to differ from what we can currently reproduce, we are continuing to work with you directly to understand what may be specific to your setup, movement pattern, or device connection. Thank you again for helping us investigate this.

Old App Way Better

The old app was way easier to use and much more strait forward. All the data points you wanted to see quickly on one scroll screen… they over complicated the app trying to “fancy” it up for a sales pitch. This is coming from someone who has spent over 25k on their products. I’ll probably look elsewhere since they are now trying to monetize their equipment data… which their equipment was already expensive to begin with. Very disappointed and was an OG customer when they first came out.

Developer Response
Hello, thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you are disappointed. With the new app we have added a lot of features and it is true some are behind pay wall but we included a lot more in the free version in the new app and also reduced the pricing quite a bit for the paid levels. One big point of the new app was to make the free version a lot better. With more metrics and features it can be tricker to find the information you need and this is something we prioritise to make it clear and easy to navigate. If you have specific pain points or issues please let our team know so we can make sure to address these, you can reach them at appsupport@exxentric.com. Our app team loves to get direct feedback, especially from OG users.

Exxentric must be out of their mind. The new look is good but $250/yr (or $25/mo) for ACCESS to VIDEOS? You have to be joking. Not even coaching, just workout videos to follow along to. Would I be willing to do a one-time payment for lifetime access to a collection of videos? Sure. Let us download. And when I exhaust a collection I’d even buy more. But pointless ongoing subscriptions need to die and this is one of those. I hope you read this exxentric, there’s a better way.

Developer Response
The highest tier your reference (professional) is to get access to having 999 clients in the app, manage their data, see their progress, send workouts and programs to them. It also unlocks all content, workouts like you mention but also all educations. This tier is for a specific subset of our professional users. To just unlock training content premium level at $10 is enough but you can also use free version to record your data, track your progress and still have access to some free workouts and education. We are adding content on all levels and if you are just looking to track your training we would recommend starting on the free tier.
