I love the game and I encourage it to continue but I want to talk about the thanksgiving event. While I do take in that its still in beta stages I wonder what other people say about the keys during the event. The keys in the event where put into the stage rewards, and while I think it’s clever I think we should still get keys for completing tasks. Another thing I should mention is most of the tasks to progress are an 1hr long, which means the player would most likely have to be on the game all the time just to get a high stage level. And again I take in it’s still in beta I think it would be a better idea to get keys while an event is ongoing or have more tasks shorter like 25 to 30 minutes. Overall, I highly enjoy this game despite the negative feedback the game gets because people aren’t patient. When you make certain products in the game, you have to wait like all other games. Everyone cries and wails about when the next region comes out, but there are literally other activities that you can do outside this game or within. My main critique of the game is the reliance on earning coins to either increase the amount of engineers you can hire, or the ability to upgrade your in game facilities to make certain products. My other criticism is on the earning of locomotives. Randomizing the locomotives you can earn via keys is nice and all, but after awhile it gets rather frustrating as you could want one locomotive reward from the spin, but you keep getting everything else but that (this is much later into the game or region mind you). But overall I really enjoy the game and variety of locomotives that can be earned

i really enjoy this game. However, and this is a big part of why I’m even writing this review, the algorithm used in game for the “parts” needed to upgrade the engines in game is off. Common parts are suppose to “hit” 45% of the time. That is not my experience. In fact, the “rare” parts hit 45% of the time while the “common” parts hit at the rate of the rare parts. The algorithm is messed up according to the data I’ve been keeping. It’s not a smooth bell curve as it should be. I’ve worked for gaming companies and had long conversations with the head of programming RE: gaming algorithms. I was the forward face of the company who actually taught everyone else how to play on behalf of the company. The game is fun; I enjoy it. Alas, algorithms appear to be off. There should be a smooth bell curve for the parts, but there isn’t. Makes leveling up the engines and hence the trains slow (and costly if you purchase the parts cases which is actually what I’m complaining about … you purchase the case, game says 45% probability of landing on common parts; it’s not what’s happening for me.)

I played train station two and enjoyed it. It was fairly simple to spend 20 or 30 minutes gathering material and crafting the supplies you either needed to restock or for the next mission. Additionally, between the regular opportunities in game to earn the materials, you needed to improve your trains and the events. It was pretty easy to get the trains in most regions trains to full capacity after a few events. Wow this game is visually more stunning, none of the above is true. It’s nearly impossible to stock pile any of the difficult to acquire or manufacturer resources. Train drops consistently drop train you already own, and it is nearly impossible to acquire the resources to upgrade your trains fully. I’m currently playing my first event and it took two of us the entire three days of the qualifying round to qualify for the actual event. Now we’re eight hours into the event itself. Which last four days and we’re only 10% complete. This isn’t fun, it’s work, grinding, tedious trifling work.
