Vertical Scramble
Climbing & Bouldering Game
$2.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
New in 2.0: all-new card designs, auto-draw, and cards read aloud — so everyone on the wall can play.
Vertical Scramble is the card game for climbing walls. Draw an action and a color — "Heel Hook. Blue." — and make the move. Keep going until you fall.
HOW IT WORKS
• Flip four starting colors and choose your starting holds: two hands, two feet
• Each turn, draw an action card and a color card and move to match
• The reader sets the pace — or let auto-draw do it, from 2 to 10 seconds a turn
• Play until you fall, then try to beat your score
PLAY YOUR WAY
• Auto-draw keeps the game moving without anyone holding the phone
• Read aloud calls out every draw, so you can keep your eyes on the wall
• Remove colors your wall doesn't have, and change how many of each card are in the deck
• Make custom action and color cards, with the name in any color you like
• House rules are encouraged!
Works on iPhone and iPad, in portrait or landscape. No account, no ads, and nothing leaves your device.
Climbing is inherently dangerous. Play at your own risk.

Vertical Scramble 2.0 is a complete rebuild with a fresh new look.
• All-new card designs, matching the 2.0 physical deck
• New logo, colors and app icon
• Auto-draw: new cards are drawn for you every 2–10 seconds, so the reader can climb too
• Read cards aloud: the app calls out each draw, like "Heel Hook. Blue."
• Custom cards: name your own actions and colors and pick the text color with a color slider or hex code
• Better on iPad, in landscape, and on bigger screens
• The screen stays awake during a game
Note: card counts you customized in earlier versions are reset to the defaults in this update.
Happy climbing!
