Ten new cities Departures and trip planning now cover Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Cologne, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Leipzig, Dresden and Newcastle — light rail, Stadtbahn, U-Bahn and tram. Each city gets its own station sign. In Sydney, the Metro and the light rail join the trains. Trip planning now uses live train times in more cities, including the New York subway, so the routes it suggests allow for trains running late. Plus reliability fixes.

Nearby Stops shows its stations beside a map, and tapping a dot finds the station in the list. Trip shows your route beside the results, so choosing another one swaps it in place. The Hague and Denver Live departures and trip planning for The Hague's trams and RandstadRail, on a card modelled on the city's own yellow tram stop sign, and for Denver's light rail and commuter rail, on a card modelled on its station blade signs. Denver's boards head each train by where it ends. Stockholm now updates every 30 seconds and shows SL service alerts. Plus reliability fixes.

Rotterdam Live departures and trip planning for Rotterdam's RET metro, lines A to E, and its trams. Each station card takes after the 1968 metro: the name in white capitals on dark wall panelling, with the colours of the lines that stop there. Plus reliability fixes.

Oslo, Helsinki and Stockholm Three new cities, each with a station card drawn from its own signs: Oslo's T-bane and trams, Helsinki's metro and trams, and Stockholm's tunnelbana, pendeltåg and light rail. Helsinki stations show their Swedish names under the Finnish, just like the signs in the city. FastStation now speaks Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish. Trip times follow your phone's settings: 24-hour clocks show 23:30 rather than 11:30, and Finnish shows 23.30. Plus updated data credits and reliability fixes.

Better walks to and from the train Trip planning no longer suggests walks the streets can't actually make. A station that is close as the crow flies but cut off by water, like Roosevelt Island from the Upper East Side, is no longer offered as a short walk. The stations you can really walk to are considered instead, which often finds a faster trip. Plus reliability fixes.

Buses say where they're going New York's bus boards now head each direction with the bus's own sign, like "Harlem 147 St via Madison Av", instead of the last stop on the route. Long destinations wrap neatly, so arrival times keep their room and stations no longer run into each other. Wondering why your trip skips a line you know? At the end of a trip, tap "Why not another line?" and pick one. FastStation tells you whether it's already an option, isn't running soon, or how it compares: when it gets there, how many changes and how much walking. Plus reliability fixes.

Every stop, and when to change Trips now show every stop on each ride, with its time, and a strip map of the whole journey. Each change gets its own card: when your train gets in, when the next one leaves, and whether it's the same station or a short walk. Follow a trip and FastStation keeps up with you. It shows the stops coming up, turns black one stop before a change and orange when it's time to change, with a countdown to your connection. Turn on alerts and it tells you at each change, even with your phone locked, on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island. Plan to arrive by a time: FastStation finds the latest you can leave and still get there. Service alerts now show on the rides they affect. If you miss a connection, FastStation offers the next one. Typed places and landmarks are found more reliably, in trip planning and in saved places. Station boards in London, Chicago, Boston, Berlin and on New York's buses now show clearer directions.

New Jersey and Amsterdam NJ TRANSIT trains join New York's boards, with live delays and a station card drawn from NJ TRANSIT's 1981 signs. Trip planning covers the whole region, so one trip can combine the subway, LIRR, Metro-North, PATH and NJ TRANSIT. Amsterdam joins FastStation with live GVB metro and tram departures and trip planning, on a station card drawn from the city's original 1977 metro signs. Trip planning now covers Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt. Trip options no rider would take, such as a long detour that arrives far later than the fastest trip, no longer clutter the list.

Three German cities, and more trips Munich, Hamburg and Frankfurt join FastStation with live U-Bahn departures, each on a station card drawn from its own signage: Munich's trunk-line colors, Hamburg's platform sign and Frankfurt's station tiles. Kansas City now shows RideKC buses alongside the streetcar. Switch them on with the mode filter. Trip planning now covers Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Adelaide and Singapore. Hong Kong's arrival boards refresh more reliably.

Easier to use, for everyone VoiceOver now reads each train as one stop, with its line, destination and time in minutes. Stations say whether they're pinned, and alert bands say whether they're open. Larger text sizes keep station names, direction labels and line badges whole, and badges grow with your text. Line badges use dark lettering where white was hard to read, and New York's bullets are slightly deeper in colour, so every line meets accessibility contrast guidelines. Arrival updates respect Reduce Motion, and city names now appear in your language.

Three new cities Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with Queensland Rail trains and the G:link tram, and Adelaide join with live departures. Singapore's MRT and LRT join with departures from LTA's timetable, since its live train times appear only during disruptions. Its cards say "Scheduled times", and its service alerts are live. Cards that match the signs Each new city's card follows its own station signage.

Quicker on its feet Your pinned stops refresh without the app reading its whole station list to find them, and the nearby list no longer works out the same walking distances twice over. Opening the app, and watching it update, should both feel lighter. A stalled request now gives up instead of holding a slot If a transit agency's feed hangs, the app waits thirty seconds and moves on, rather than leaving you watching a shimmer while nothing arrives. The distance filter says what it means The widest setting used to read "Unlimited" while quietly stopping at ten kilometres. It now shows the actual distance, and if there is genuinely nothing in range, the app says so instead of suggesting you widen a filter that is already as wide as it goes.

Metro-North The railroad out of Grand Central is here. Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Line departures appear in Nearby alongside everything else, and each set of times is headed by where that train is actually going — Grand Central, Poughkeepsie, Stamford. Long Island Rail Road, in its own words Branches are spelled out now — Babylon, Port Washington, Port Jefferson — instead of route numbers, and directions read Westbound and Eastbound the way the railroad signs them. An empty screen that tells the truth When there is nothing nearby, the app says why: how far it looked, and whether your location is genuinely switched off. It used to ask you to turn on GPS even when GPS was working perfectly — which was the one case it could not have been.
