EyeSpy Mouse Eyes is a fun and whimsical macOS app that brings your screen to life with a pair of playful eyes that follow your mouse cursor around. Built as a native, super-lean app, it's fast and light on your Mac. Designed originally for my daughter, this app adds a touch of magic to any computer.
Features
• Native, Lean & Fast: A true native macOS app - tiny footprint, low CPU and memory use, and easy on your battery. No bloat, no background hogging.
• Playful Eye Movement: The eyes smoothly follow your mouse pointer, making it feel like your computer is always watching.
• Full of Life: The eyes blink naturally while your mouse is resting, wink when you click them, and get dizzy when you spin your mouse in fast circles!
• Sleeping Eyes: After 20 seconds of inactivity, the eyes yawn and close with a gentle, rounded eyelid - and wake up with a sleepy blink when you return. Late at night they get tired, with slow, heavy blinks. Sweet dreams!
• Eye Styles: Choose round, sleepy, cat or cyclops eyes - one big monster eye!
• Holiday Styles: Special styles appear in their season - Pumpkin for Halloween, Santa in December, Hearts for Valentine's Day, Clover for St. Patrick's Day and Easter eggs in spring.
• Holiday Animations: Around each holiday, little surprises play below the eyes, whatever style you pick - bats, a witch, a black cat and a ghost for Halloween; Santa's sleigh, falling snow and a snowman for Christmas; fireworks for New Year's; a menorah lit for each night, a spinning dreidel and gelt for Hanukkah; diyas, a rangoli and a sparkler for Diwali; lanterns, firecrackers and red envelopes for Lunar New Year; Cupid's arrow and a heart balloon for Valentine's Day; a rainbow and a pot of gold for St. Patrick's Day; and a hatching chick and a hopping bunny for Easter. The eyes watch each one as it plays, and even the app icon dresses up.
• Hidden Surprises: Keep an eye out on special days - and see what happens if you click the eyes a few times!
• Cute Design: Realistic pupils with reflective spots and eye shapes with shading create a charming effect.
• Global Mouse Tracking: The eyes track your mouse pointer anywhere on the screen, ensuring they're always on the lookout.
• Menu Bar Integration: Lives discreetly in your Mac's menu bar, ready to entertain anytime.
• Gaze Mode: Choose between normal, mixed, or reverse gaze modes.
• Considerate: Holiday animations play only now and then, never over full-screen apps, and you can turn them off with one switch. They respect the Reduce Motion accessibility setting and pause in Low Power Mode.
• Mouse Activity Dashboard: Now you can spy back at your mouse! Track your mouse movements, clicks, and active hours over 2 weeks, 3 months, 1 year or all time, and export your full history to CSV.
• Fun Distance Scales: Discover how far your mouse has traveled in amusing equivalents like "Trips to Mordor," "Mount Everest Climbs," "Great Wall of China Lengths," and more.
• Optional Tip Jar: Love the app? You can leave a small tip to support development - completely optional.

Fun Little App

Great way to keep track of where my mouse is on a big screen. Love it!The only thing I could wish for is for it to work across multiple screens. (Although my own programmer-mind boggles at the complexity of doing so!) It might be easier to have the active icon in the header of each physical screen track the mouse when it is there on that screen.
Developer Response
Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback and the 5-star rating! 🌟 I’m thrilled to hear that you find my tool helpful for tracking your mouse on a large screen.I understand the desire to extend this functionality across multiple screens, and I’m actively looking into it. While this is a complex feature, I’m exploring options to make the active icon track the mouse on each physical screen. One tip for now: enabling the Mission Control setting “Displays have separate Spaces” can allow more flexible behavior across multiple screens, which might provide an experience closer to what you’re looking for. Thanks again for your thoughtful suggestion—it’s insights like yours that help me improve! 🖥️
What's New in EyeSpy
• Open EyeSpy again while it's running (Finder, Spotlight or Launchpad) and its menu opens, even when the menu bar icon is hidden behind the notch.
• The menu now opens as a standard macOS popover hanging from the eyes.
• While the About or Stats window is open, EyeSpy shows in the Dock, so you can find it with ⌘Tab. Turn on "Show in the Dock" in the menu to keep it there. Quitting from the Dock asks whether to keep EyeSpy running in the menu bar.
• Click EyeSpy's Dock icon and its eyes follow your pointer for a moment.
