Great, except for controller inconsistencies and equipment issues
Crocakahn!
I’m really enjoying it so far, but when using a controller, you can’t hold down the map button to see unexplored locations. Why is that feature only available on the touch screen? I can deal with the general lack of direction that old games fail to provide, but I should be able to use the map when I use a controller. It’s a pretty small but therefore stupid oversight. Also, when selecting optimize on the monk, it will equip things that make him weaker. Not optimal.
Better than the original…almost

I was a huge fan of the original as a kid. And also of FF 2 and 3 (American) and their esthetic which this updated version seems to borrow heavily from. So this was a HUGE plus for me. The ability to conduct battles more quickly through cursor memory and the button that allows you to repeat previous battle actions is a huge time saver. The one big difference I noticed is both a plus and a con in my opinion. This update awards significantly more Gil and XP per battle meaning it has eliminated traditional grinding. You level very quickly , you can afford almost everything as soon as it is available, and it is easy to get ahead of the difficulty curve. While it makes the game more of a relaxed play, it takes something away from the sense of accomplishment one might get from defeating a particularly hard dungeon. But that aside, it was a blast to play just fine expect a completely faithful replay of the original. Still, highly recommended
Delightfully Remastered Classic

It’s beautiful how flawlessly this looks and runs. The quality of life changes are much appreciated (maps, running, boosting exp/gil rates). I don’t like the change of spell charges instead of MP for casting spells but it has the upside of really making every use of a spell count. You can choose the original OST or remastered one and both are awesome. You can also change the font if you don’t like the modern default. I can’t confirm yet, but I think this one is missing the bonus end-game content you see in other ports. Overall, I still think the PSP ports of FF1 to FF4 are unmatched, but on a phone this is so easy and fun (not having to mess with emulators and game dumps etc.) It’s great really. If you’ve never played FF before, try it out and pump the boost for exp and Gil to x2 or more to reduce grinding. You might love it.
Amazing game!

I had never played the OG game before but this version I believe is the best one to play for 1st timers with all its additions. Said that I hope you guys bring the whole collection to Apple Arcade cause if the 1st one is good I can’t imagine the rest!Lastly, it would be very but I mean very time saving and very helpful if you guys added auto sync to the cloud so that it doesn’t have to be done manually every time I want to move from my iPhone to my iPad and continue where I left off. All other Apple Arcade games do it so I hope there’s a way this game and the other final fantasy games become capable of automatically syncing to the cloud every time one saves progress please!! And thanks
*Minor bugs have been fixed.
