- The app can optionally connect to external medical hardware: the PC-60NW Fingertip Oximeter, cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under 510(k) number K120502 (21 CFR 870.2700, product code DQA, Class II).
- This hardware has regulatory clearance to be used in the United States. It does not hold a Health Canada medical device licence and is not authorized for use in Canada.
- Recording an oximeter reading is an optional daily task and requires the physical device. All other features of BKC Ohio - appointments, secure messaging with your care team, and daily pain, mood and medication check-ins - involve no medical hardware.
